Lung-Hsiung Chang's Online Review Report Card

I usually don't write a review unless I have to. I was referred by the hospital. I had an appointment with doctor and he showed up late. I was in there 10 minutes and he was done checking my eyes. He prescribed me some medication and it just made my eyes worse. So I had to go to another doctor a week after and I showed him my medication and they were surprised on one medication he gave me. They told me to stop taking that medication. And prescribed me a new medication half a day after my eyes feel a lot better. So if you go to this doctor make sure he  checks you thoroughly. Will not going back to this doctor

I was taking my grandpa here and there was a line outside. It was 9:07am and his appointment was at 9:30am. Once we got there there was four people were already waiting in line. my grandpa tried to open the door but it was locked. By the time it was 9:37am, my grandpa told me to check if the doors were open and it was unlocked. I asked the young lady in front who wouldnt even glance at me nor say hi, " what time did you guys open?" She said without looking at me " 9am" I said " oh you shouldve told us that you were open, when we were standing outside" There was total of 6 people waiting outside for more than 30 minutes. She said "if you read the paper outside it said we open at 9am" After my grandpa finished his appointment he asked the young lady in the front to schedule him an appointment two weeks from now, without even asking if the day and time was fine with him. She just handed him a card with appointment and we left without her saying anything. I know she can talk friendly because she was giggling and talking loud with her coworkers but towards patients it's disappointing. They have poor services but the doctor is nice though

This place is so RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. The two ladies in the front didn't care that we almost waited for 3 hours. They were just talking about their private lives with one of the tall doctors, like HELLO WE DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR AUNT. They were literally complaining about not getting their lunch on time, and she literally told my mom, " Well theres a bunch of people and because of them we can't get our lunch!" Like REALLY?NEVER GOING BACK TO THIS PLACE. Knowing myself I usually give other places chances but not this one ever again.

My daughter was referred here by her doctor for a sty that keeps coming back at the same time every year... We were fisrt referred to a different doctor but that doctor just looked at her gave a prescription and left... But dr chang really took the time to look at her eye and really ask questions ans examine what was goin on.. After a while he gave us instructions and prescription for my daugter and her sty hasn't been back since!(and hopefully it never does..) But as good as dr chang is their receptionists doesn't seem to care about being there... Hope dr chang reprimand them to start caring for their job!

The doctor is decent. The front desk staff is ignorant, loud, and rude. They are so inept of how to work in a professional doctor's clinic. The doctor is losing patients because of his staff.

Dr. Chang is a good doctor but the staff in front is very unprofessional their rude and don't do their job I feel bad for the doctor his too old to know any better the two girls don't even care the customers are watching them act like their in their house and not a clinic. they have no respect for doctor chang  and make facial expressions at him when he turns and keep telling him im busy. I would never come back.

Dr. Chang is great. He is fast. Some people don't like his dry sense of humor but I love it. I think it's great. He's an awesome doctor with the steadiest hands. Some of the posts criticize his age. But remember with age comes wisdom.

this doctor is good...

One word for this place UNPROFESSIONAL... My mom got a referral to this place by LA Care and her PCP, you do not need an appointment. Anyways we went on a Tuesday morning they open at 9 am and we got there at 9:30 am anyways, we walk in office looks nice from the outside and then inside it's okay not too bad(waiting are) could be better... Decent size waiting are. So there's two receptionist girls, one Hispanic and the other Asian/Chinese, so I sign in my auntie and non of the girls say nothing, but to take a seat... So we sit there waiting for them to ask for the referral, ins, ID... Well 25 min passed by and the girls hadn't even noticed the sign in sheet and more patients had signed in too, well I was observing the girls and they were very childish and unprofessional no customer service what so ever... They were acting like little girls who didn't do anything... I really don't know how they work there but then again the doctor is worse for being a doctor  so after 30 min I go up to them and tell them, my aunt and I have been waiting for any paper work as a new patient and here is her referral, ins, and ID... They looked at each other like dumb asses (sorry for the word) and said OH when they finally saw the patient sign in sheet and saw how many patients were there waiting, so they gave me a form to fill out and then they asked for the copay, they were asking for the wrong copay, since I've worked in the optometry field I know how to bill and the process well I had to correct them and yet they looked very confused, so after that the doctor called us in he was wearing a beat up scrub top and very big size for him looked like a dress on him, he did not have bed side manners, dirty dirty the patient room, he didn't even clean the instruments before using them with my auntie I had to say something, this was no theral exam!!!! He didn't even give her a good prescription he said go to the dollar store and by +2.25.. that's it, didn't check the health of the eye nothing... Seriously I really don't know why patients love him from the one's at the office talking... Well hope this "DR" goes out of business. Also medi-cal(la care etc. ) Need to upgrade their doctors within network!

Doctor is OK, not friendly.  The problem is the front desk staff.  They need to be trained properly.  It does not take 30 minutes for 2 girls to figure out if a patient's insurance is covered for cataract surgery.  Also need to let patients know before the next appointment if they get their eyes dilated, to bring sunglasses and make arrangements to have someone drive them after their appointment.  Making an appointment is also difficult.  Major communication issue!
