John Cheng's Online Review Report Card

A hero who gave his life to save others. On May 15th, 2022, Dr. Cheng died after confronting a gunman who appeared at Geneva Presbyterian Church, Laguna Woods, California. Because of him, many lives were saved and humanity is better off in myriad ways.

Attentive, knowledgeable, and professional. Excellent family doctor for years.

Dr Cheng I quit , your staff has ruined your business I saw you for almost 20 years since you opened your doors. This makes me sad and mad , it's your staffs fault I refuse to ever return to your office , from Johnna the office manager to the entire staff Nurse Jackie your reception it's rediculous ,what ever Johnna tells them to do they do they are terrified of her I remember walking threw your hallway look up at johnna and she literally gave me a ugly look a like wtf are you looking at look , not to mention being told by your staff that after seeing you for so very long I can no longer see you it's been 5 years now just because of your staff, your PA's have been really bad at their job I have so many problems now because of them not letting me see you a real Dr , I wanted to stay with you but your staff is the worse I have ever seen so tell me how do I see you for a follow up when we are told we can't see you anymore, really stupid on your staffs part. you would think you are GOD the way they are. I now have nerve damage in my arms from a antibiotic that I should have been given cipro, I have severe psoriasis cuz your PA said I wore my sock after the gym, I was there for my nerve damage in so much pain I asked for an ice pack , I waited and waited I went to the receptionist and asked she told me they were looking for me I asked well I told you I'll be in the waiting room ahhhh well to bad it's melted now she said I asked again do you know where the waiting room is she laughed along with another nurse , I never heard them call me if they did , however the same nurse called me to pay my bill boy did she say my name loud and she  brought me my reciept to the waiting room I had to say really but no ice pack again she laughed do you really believe that people should be treated like this I'm so done, that now I have to do what I can do so this doesn't happen to the elderly people that go to your office , your staff needs to be investigated. Period I'm done, I do thank Dr Tran that was there many years ago for saving my life.

Best doctor I have seen for diagnosing injuries. Very patient, methodical, listened carefully to my history. I highly recommend Dr. Cheng as a sports doctor.

I have been going to Southcoast Medical Group for several years and have had excellent care for various issues. Recently I was seen in the Emergency room and needed to be referred to a specialist and medication. I called and spoke to Barbara in the office who was very pleasant and concerned. She quickly insured that I was provided the  necessary orders I needed. SouthCoast Medical Group is an excellent facility and they are very lucky to have Barbara as part of their staff. Dr Cheng is probably one of the most genuine, knowledgeable, and caring doctors in this region. He "listens", and doesn't cut anyone short.. I have seen this first hand now for 17 years, and at 67 years old, I had several doctors prior. I live 40 miles away now, but would never switch to a closer dr to my residence. Well worth the drive to see him when needed.

Doctor John Chang is a great doctor. He's very knowledgeable and easy to talk to. He takes the time to listens and answers questions. He's really nice and friendly.

Poor treatment, very rude person. Super bad staff.

I have been going to Dr. Cheng for about 10 years. Even though I have moved further away in those years, I come back to his location because he is excellent. His doctor-patient manner is the best I have experienced in all my life. He is personable, a GREAT listener, remembers our previous conversations and takes plenty of time to answer any questions. He makes one feel like they are being treated by a good friend. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. John Cheng has earned my and my wife's respect. He listens, he cares, he explaines his diagnosis and the treatments he perscribes. Dr. Cheng has really proven himself during our recent biking accident. He explained our injuies, the root-cause of all our pain, and then treated us accordingly. Dr. Cheng truly cares about his patients.
