Shail Vyas's Online Review Report Card

This is late post, but please be careful with this office's billing department. I went for a visit back in May 2019. I have dual insurance and I have never had issues with a Drs office before with having two insurances (Blue Shield & Blue Cross). I was referred here by the St. Jude hospital to get a MRI of my leg. I gave both insurances to the clerical person who helped check me in, she made copies, I saw the Dr and went on my way. I did pay a $30 co-pay, which I thought was odd, my co-pays have never been more than $0-$5. They said I would be contacted when results came in, time goes by no call. It then slips my mind, but I was contacted by a debt collect summer 2021 (2 years later) letting me know I have a balance of over $1000 due for Dr. Vyas and if I do not pay no it will affect my credit report. I contact the office because I was never reached out to by phone, email, mail, text etc about a left over amount or bill! I gave the office a piece of my mind on how can they be so irresponsible. I reviewed what they have on file and she states, "we do not have a second insurance on file for you". I also confirmed the contact information and it was all correct. She said, it was too late to add the second insurance and I had to pay the amount due. I told her I would call my insurances and have them cover the charges. I have done so and as of 08/15/2022, I see the collection charge on my Experian report. SO the saga continues, as I now reach out to both parties once more. Also, I don't understand how his rating on Google jumped so high. It was a 1.2 or 1.7 back in 2021 (one year ago) I honestly think he is buying fake reviews. It is possible.

Very knowledgable and knows what he's doing. I came in with a pretty painful problem that had been plaguing me for nearly a year, and he mitigated the pain extremely quickly and in a manner which was non invasive. He also spent a good amount of time explaining what was wrong and gave excellent advice on managing my condition for a quicker full recovery. I could not have asked for a better doctor!

The last visit was really terrible. Instead of getting better from the gel injection, I felt my condition has became worse. Don’t take the gel in your knees if the doctor suggested so because these injection are hit or miss depends on your luck if you ask the doctor. Do physical therapy instead!!!

I was referred to Dr. Shail Yvas, Orthopedic Surgeon through my HMO insurance for pain in my knee. The X-ray and MRI showed bone on bone. Also, afraid of blood clots. We then discussed knee replacement. I asked if he had alternative suggestions! I really didn’t want to have the pain and physical therapy required after surgery. Also, I live alone which makes it more difficult to get to PT and other appointments, if I can’t drive. Well, we discussed PRP: “,,,,,,,“Platelet-Rich Plasma Therapy - Treatment for Knees Non-Surgical Techniques to Heal Muscles, Ligaments, and Tendons. Avoid Surgery · • What can you expect after getting PRP….” The studies indicate that three injections, two weeks apart, is the suggested treatment. There are no guarantees, nor with surgery, so, I took a chance. It has been five months and I am still pain free. The knee cracks and makes movements, but NO pain. I believe in this process, PRP, as it is your own blood used, no rejection.

Gel injection was very helpful - felt slightly rushed

Dr. Vyas is great. He is a dr. that does not want to perform surgery or give shots unless absolutely necessary. His office staff is wonderful and there has never been a wait!
