Asok Doraiswamy's Online Review Report Card

I was blessed to have been referred to Dr. Doraiswamy by my gastro Dr. After extensive studies it was determined that based on years of having GERD issues I was diagnosed with Barrett's esophagus. On top of that my upper sphincter was herniated and 20% of my intestines were out and affecting my lung. From day one of meeting with Dr. Doraiswamy he was extremely informative and provided great assurance on the procedure I was being scheduled for. This model of professional care and informative attentiveness continued during all stages of my post-op communications with Dr. Doraiswamy. I'm entering into my 3rd week on my post-op and this is my first week back in the office (I'm in sales and work from an office setting). I'm feeling stronger and stronger so my recovery is on a good pace. With out hesitation I would recommend Dr. Doraiswamy. So, I've kind of hesitated to put this info out there because I don't want to paint an unrealistic picture because no person or medical provider is perfect but I do believe in giving props and showing appreciation where due. Dr. D. performed my surgery (Laproscopic VSG, small hernia repair and gall bladder removal) earlier this year on 1/30/23. The initial surgery went well with no complications. A few weeks into recovery I started to have some issues with electrolyte imbalances and issues with progressing my diet, etc. that I am still working through currently. Needless to say it has not been as smooth a path of recovery as I'd hoped for but Dr. D has been my biggest support and help in terms of medical providers involved in helping me get through this, even more so than my PCP. Every referral and test (aside from most of those done when I've gone to the the ER) to investigate what has been going on with me has been through his authorization. He has taken my concerns and issues seriously and done what is necessary to investigate all in the interest of making sure that are no serious complications or problems as a result of the surgery. He's also put up with my tl;dr emails and anxiety, which I know can be a bit much and isn't ruffled by it but amused. Dr. D. is a very good surgeon and a good, kind, empathetic and patient person. He also has a good sense of humor and is a positive person. I really thank God for him. He's a busy man, the Medical Director of Huntington's Bariatric Surgery Department (which I had no idea about at the time when I was referred to him) in addition to his own surgical practice and he responds to my emails when he can and goes above and beyond. I couldn't imagine going through all of this without his support and I do NOT take that for granted as I'm sure most people know, finding a good medical provider with this mix of qualities can be like gold. I didn't even vet him as a provider like I normally do initially. I have found out through this process what a great doctor I ended up with from jump. His office staff are also very professional, courteous and patient people. I put the surgery scheduler Emerald through the ringer with multiple reschedules when I was dragging my feet before surgery (to the point where Dr. D. wondered if we'd every make it to the actual surgery 😅). I pray God bless everyone abundantly

Short version of a long review: Dr. Doraiswamy saved my life. He performed emergency surgery 5 months ago and spotted a possible abnormality and referred me to a specialist. The specialist discovered, tested and diagnosed me with cancer. Dr. Doraiswamy removed the tumor immediately, put me back together, after complications presented themselves in the middle of surgery. I'm undergoing chemotherapy and on my road back to recovery. I am not sure what I did to deserve such a blessed person as Dr. Doraiswamy, but I thank God every day. I would trust Dr. Doraiswamy with the lives of all my family members. His office staff members are courteous, professional, and respond quickly. (Clearly hand selected)

Dr Doriswami is a wonder surgeon and doctor. I have complete faith in him. His office is efficient and I have never had to wait more than 10 mins to see him. I recently had three surgeries from him at USC hospital. He always has a smile and has a very friendly personality. Great doctor!

A excellent Sergent. I had surgery and it went well. He is very accurate and precise. He completely removing my cancer. He is so precise I healed very quickly.
