List of Eric Melvin Chwa Md's Reviews
He really care about the patient,he spend time with you to talk about your health, he is the best doctor I ever met in my all life, even the office member are really amazing.
Dr. Chwa is excellent and thorough! He takes the time to carefully review your health from year to year. He also cares about each patient and gives his best every single day. His office is not near my house, and the fact the I willingly make the commute, speaks to the quality of Dr. Chwa’s care. I highly recommend him!!!
The best doctor ever
the best doctor I ever seen , he spend really time with patient to understand his health, if I could I will give him 10 stars because that's what he deserves
The doctor takes time to explain things
Dr. Eric Chwa has been my and my family's primary doctor for decades now. His bedside manner is 2nd to none and he really goes out of his way to check in on his patients and see how they are doing. I currently live a ways away from Arcadia but continue to go to Dr. Chwa for yearly checkups because of his accessibility and thoroughness. He is just an all around great guy and very knowledgeable in his work. He was really on top of my father's recent heart issues and made sure that he got the proper attention and care so that his issues were solved and I will be forever grateful for that.
Dr. Eric Chwa himself gets a 5 star rating from me. He is knowledgeable, he listens and he doesn't rush his patients. So when I moved 125 miles away I continued to see him for my annual check-ups. The office staff, however, only gets one star. I was very surprised one day when I tried to refill of my blood pressure meds and the pharmacy said his office denied it. The reason they gave was that I didn't go back to get the lab results. Since the lab posts the results online and everything was within range I did not see a reason to make a 250 mile round trip through L.A. traffic to be told something I already knew. If anything had been wrong, I would have made an appointment. Fortunately, a doctor at a local urgent care renewed my meds. I never went back to Dr. Chwa's office after that.Yesterday I got a bill from his office with a service date in 2015. There were no details other than the date, amount, and that the insurance company didn't pay. I looked through my copies of the insurance papers (yes, I kept them) and could not find a claim for that date. There is no reason the office couldn't have billed me at that time if this were a legitimate bill. They've always had my address. Maybe they forgot to bill insurance and are trying to get it out of me. I hope this isn't happening to other patients. I hope this isn't some kind of scam. In summary, great doctor, not so great office.
Stay away from this doctor office, they're money hungry and will do anything they can to bill you and your insurance. I had my annual physical exam visit and Dr. Nilar Chwa spent approximately 5 minutes to ask me about my health, and then send me to Quest Diagnostic lab to get bloodwork. Obviously, this office has no nurse to take blood work, you only talk to the doctor about your request and tell her about your health. Surprisingly, they billed me two separate bills for 1 annual physical visit. 1 bill is for the annual physical exam and 1 bill is for my question about stomach related issue, so this doctor even billed you a separate bill if you ask her other question during your annual physical exam. I thought when you see your doctor for the annual physical exam, she gives you 5 minutes, you can address any concerns about your health with her/him...and it's ridiculous that they even charge you the additional bill for asking about another health-related issue. And, not just that, after the bloodwork came out, I came in to get a copy of my lab result but didn't talk to the doctor, I also received another bill for that. Overall, they billed my insurance 3 separate bills for just the annual physical exam, my insurance only paid 1 bill and denied the remaining two bills, then the doctor office passed these remaining bills amount $160 to me, I called the doctor office and told them that why they billed me 3 times with ridiculous amount, they said they don't know, i need to talk to their medical billing company, and when i talked to their medical billing staff, she was mean and no help, she told me that she doesn't know what I discussed with the doctor during my visit, but i have to pay for the doctor visits, her job is only to collect money from the patients so that doctor can have money to pay for the overhead, and also threaten me if I don't pay the remaining two bills, they will send to collection agency. I then talked to the doctor office, and they said talk to the billing agency. Both doctor/physical assistant/billing staff at this office are irresponsible and wanted to charge the patients whatever the amount they want to. My advice is to stay away from this doctor office unless you want them to take all of your money.
He's the best. I have very good health insurance so I've had many opportunities to go elsewhere but I won't. He's patient, kind and caring. The receptionists is a sweetheart. I like Dr Nilar too. She's very thorough too but Dr Eric is mine, my husbands and sisters 1st choice. Anyone who asks about a good Dr I always say, Dr Eric.
Dr. Eric Chwa has been my mothers physican for over 20 years. He has nalways took the time to return a phone call the same day even if the time is past 10pm. His Staff is committed to the patient and never delays a prescription. You are five star. Enjoy your vacation

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
