Gregory Withers's Online Review Report Card

I am very grateful to Dr. Withers. I landed with him via a my insurance referral. I am glad I went. I was hesitant at first because of some of  comments I saw. The pandemic caused for my stenosis to worsen and I was afraid to have the surgery during the pandemic until I received the vaccine. During the months that I waited Dr Withers was very direct and not sugar coating anything. I actually appreciate his direct approach. His comments  his knowledge and just over all control made me feel like someone actually knew what they were talking about. He explained what would be done and why it should be done asap. His after care is also awesome. I had never seen or heard of a Dr to follow up on a daily basis to check in on you and let your loved one know the status. Very well coordinated and communicated.I can see why often individuals might mistake his personality manner with his directness approach. But in all honesty I am glad he is direct and very open and up front. After all it is surgery we were headed for and I prefer someone that knows what they are doing and be in control of the situation. In my opinion Dr Withers does not get the credit he deserves. If you want a doctor who pretends to care and really doesn't follow through or allows for too many hands in the mix then go somewhere else. when it comes to surgery I want someone who will be in control of the situation and knows what they are doing. If feelings are going to be hurt at the first thing that comes out of Dr Withers mouth then you don't need a surgeon you need a shrink. I also have to say his two ladies in the front reception are very professional. They behave and act very professional and kind. My Past experience from other doctors front office staff are a joke.   I appreciate individuals in the front that know what they are doing and pay attention to you and not running around not knowing left from right.

So glad I didn’t have surgery with this doctor. He recommended a pretty radical spine surgery so I got a second opinion. My new surgeon said the surgery recommended by Dr. Withers was not necessary and I improved with PT and injections.

Dr. Withers did surgery on my neck over 40 years ago. Great guy.

I should have left this comment back in 2014 but Dr. Withers did surgery for c3,c4 and c5 fusion. Was very successful and I really appreciate him and his office including Dr. Wogenson for taking excellent care with me.

This guy is wonderful, competent reassuring and professional.The ladies up front went out of their way to help with insurance approvals etc.Couldn’t be more pleased.Doug Baldwin

I had my 1st appointment with him and everything was fine. Nothing like the reviews you read. Then I had my second appointment and I found a completely different doctor. He made no sense, everything he said was like he was talking about another patient. Why did I have my ex rays take why did I live so far, why did my doctor not have that he liked? He was so off the charts I didn’t know what to make of him. I asked for a different referral and called and cancel my next appointment. The office person did not seem surprised. I would not put my life in his hands he bipolar or early Alzheimer’s. Maybe just plain crazy

Dr. Withers is brilliant, kindhearted, loving and caring. Dr. Withers saved my life when I was fifteen years old. He's been beyond good to me the last 20 years as his patient. I am beyond blessed to have had him as my surgeon. Thank you Dr. Withers for giving me a second chance at life.

Dr. Withers has been nothing but amazing taking care of me as a patient. He removed a blood clot from my brain and added plates to my skull for a skull fracture. Every visit was amazing and the service through every step of the way was easy and comforting not to forget the amazing front desk personnel. I was very nervous about this before the surgery but I definetly would recommend Dr. Withers.

This review is not on the doctor's skill but on his demeanor. Dr. Withers saw me for a brain tumor in 2006/07. I received the opportunity to have surgery at Cedars Sinai with a brain tumor specialist. My GP sent me back to Dr. Withers for follow-up care. I think he was offended that I didn't have him do the surgery. First, he told me that he had to examine me privately and my husband needed to wait until the examination was over but would be called back. Then, he proceeded to NOT examine me but tell me I probably still did have a brain tumor and that the brain tumor specialist didn't "get it all". His words exactly (I will never forget them) were: "You know you STILL have a brain tumor, right?" (This was contrary to what two other neuros had told us.) He then proceeded to march out, slam the door, and didn't say goodbye or give me follow up instructions. I believe his wife is one of the staff members, and she tried to smooth things over, but he was obviously very angry. In addition to separating me from my husband (who would've yelled back not to talk to me this way), talking very snarky, he also always called me "sweetheart" when I was on his "good side" and talked to me like a confused little girl. I think this man is one of the most arrogant, sexist doctors I have ever met. Don't trust him if you want kind care. My GP promised to never refer to him again.
