James Eshom's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Eshom started off 17 years ago as my mother's PCP. He was nothing short of being excellent and truly helped sustain her life long past when other doctors had given up. He is now my family--spouse, two daughters as well as myself--PCP. He listens and never have I felt rushed out of the office. Our labs have been reviewed in a timely manner and discussed with each of us over the phone once received in his office. There is no other physician I would trust our healthcare with. I am truly grateful for his practice & care.

My original review was removed because yelp is covering for doctors like Eshom who don't believe in medical freedom. He won't treat you if don't have the you know what. Find yourself a doctor who believes in the oath he /she took.

Dr. Eshom has been my doctor for over 13 years.  He has excellent bedside manners. Listens to your medical needs. I hope he stays practicing for many more years. I strongly recommend him.

Met this dr at a wine party.. he came off like a real nice guy, unfortunately drinking buddies don't make for good doctors. My personal dealings with him as a patient were that he sat on test results for 6weeks and made no attempt to reach out with the results. It turns out he ordered the wrong mri scan, of course I was charged for the first mri and the visits to his office, the point is I was in extreme pain the whole time and he showed little to no concern especially when it came to correcting the error that was made.Also I really do believe he was hung over the day he ordered the MRI, he slurred his words and looked very unrested and was talking about expensive wine he was wanting to buy... I should have paid closer attention a lot sooner.... BEWARE

I am surprised to see his rating so low, he should be at 5 stars. Dr. Eshom is a hardworking, caring doctor that has gone above and beyond for everyone. He's been my doctor for 15 years . Very few Doctors are this good. The negative people I hope are seeking mental treatment.

Went to see him once on a family member's recommendation and did not enjoy my experience.  I was feeling depressed, but the medication he prescribed made me feel like a zombie.  I'm feel like I went in there complaining about my thyroid and got the hysterical woman treatment.  Antidepressants were supposed to be the cure-all of the 1990s, but they weren't.  I felt like he was too dismissive of my real problems.  I also have a beef with him not counseling my dad well enough to control his medical issues.  My mom didn't like him much either and we all eventually left his care.

I was Dr. Eshoms patient from 1999-2002.  I know you remember me sir, I fixed your computer and you gave me vicoden, remember?  You had an attorney who later died at 62, Mr. and I say that with reservation, Mr. Ray McCullough. I came to you for help with anxiety due to a very early heart attack at the age of 34.  You supplied me with endless, I mean it, endless amounts of opiates.  90 valium, 90 something else and pain killers whenever I mentioned any pain.  You self prescribed Steroids as you wanted to gain muscle, is that even ethical? You remember me calling your office and explaining that I was suffering from withdrawals, and you had you nurse say, you will get over it.  I didn't, I ended up at the hospital, you can look it up sir.  The ER doctor said he would bring me in even though officially my insurance would not cover it, but he put it under something else.  He also asked, and he said he had to ask even though he knew I would not want you to take care of me. he asked would you like Dr. Eshom to take care of you in the hospital, I declined.  I did not know doctors traded Opiates for services rendered, but you did sir, you are a very very bad doctor, you have never apologized or accepted fault..  So to all of you, beware, this doctor did not take care of his patient.
