Dr Liu is very very good eye doctor he's been for a long time the girls the stuff members of that his office they are very friendly very sufficient the place is very very clean I am very happy to be there

I had cataract surgery at Dohenny UCLA eye center with Dr. Kenneth L. Lu on May 2nd 2022. The Tri-focal lens that Dr. Lu implanted was NOT the correct one, and my vision is worse now than before the surgery. I went for a second opinion and the ophthalmologist I saw told me that the implanted lens prescription was wrong. He said “The right eye is 2.50 reading range, and should have been for distance”. Not only did Dr. Lu implant the wrong prescription, I was insulted by the fact that he told me it was to difficult to explain the problem and that the surgery is just to improve the overall vision and that I would have to wear glasses to see far. This is in absolute contradiction to what he told before the surgery. Several times before surgery he told me that I was going to be able to see well without glasses. He also told me on the first visit after the surgery that my vision was going to improve rapidly.

He tried to be very patient and nice to you to talk you into scheduling a surgery with him. After the surgery, his true face reveal. He spent one second in each eye for post op. He didn't want to answer any questions we have after the surgery.

Excellent oftalmologist. I recommend him.

Talked me into a procedure I did go to him for, and$6,000 latter I am still wearing glasses. When I told him I spent the entire night after the procedure in pain, he asked me if I was still in pain, when I said no. He said then get over it. I went to him for my nearsighted issues, he talked me into mono vision. "I'm the best" I can't see my TV without glasses, or my students, or drive. The worst part he took $5250 from me and I had to pay for glasses from another doctor. Run don't walk away.

You ask them how much it is to see this horrible doctor, they say $200, and then they send you an $862 bill even though you have insurance. They are thieves and liars.The doctor is horrible. Spent less than 5 minutes with me, did not address the problem I had, and I got a huge bill. Stay away from this horrible place.I had a simple check. A "reasonable" amount by my insurance is $129, which makes sense, but these greedy people somehow decided thatthey can charge $800 to someone, and when you ask them to change it back to cash, they refuse.

He might be a good optometrist in general; yet, not a good surgeon for double eyelid surgery. My eyes don't look that good superficially after the surgery as expected. I was told that the surgery was going to go smooth and the result would be good. However, my eyes end up looking not natural, in fact, look terrible. I even went there for the second surgery, and the second surgery even gave me an obvious scar on my eyelid. He told me he is a good surgeon for double eyelid surgery, but it is not true. I paid $4000 for it and I even went back for the second time for him to makeup the failed attempt; nothing had improved after it but leave it an obvious scar. I would not suggest this optometrist for the double eyelid surgery because you will not get the result you want!!!!!

I saw Dr. Lu for LASIK last year (Jul 2018). I was really nervous about the entire procedure but was convinced by a friend to at least go in for a consultation to get a better understanding of what will happen during the procedure and if I even qualify for it. The office staff were very friendly and I was seen fairly promptly. Plenty of parking in the lot. Dr. Lu answered all of my questions (I had a lot of them) and helped me understand how LASIK works. I was able to schedule my LASIK about two months after my consultation at California Lasik Center in Pasadena. The center was clean and staff were friendly. The procedure itself was super quick! I was in and out in about 15 minutes (maybe 20 minutes max). Dr. Lu examined my eyes before the procedure and I was led to a room with this giant machine. He walked me through the process as he was performing the surgery. I was surrounded by techs to ensure that everything was okay. And because he had already talked to me about how it works, I felt more mentally prepared. I was able to see already when he was done but definitely was not able to drive. My eyes felt very sensitive to light about half an hour after the surgery but I slept right after I got home and felt much better when I woke up couple hours later. The first 2 days after LASIK was the most uncomfortable. My eyes itched and were sensitive but nothing unusual. I used the eye drops as directed. I was able to be out and about by the 3rd day. It still blows my mind that I am able to see without contacts.. my contacts were at -6.00 and -5.50. I have some night halos but it's not so bad that I am bothered by it. Getting LASIK was one of the best decisions I have made in my life so far and Dr. Lu made it possible! I highly recommend him to my friends and family as well. :)
