List of David Pires's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr. Pires for 5 years now. Best Doctor by far. Not only is he professional and caring but very informative and takes his time to answer all my questions. I have had just about every injection you can have for back and neck including rhizotomies. He and his staff is always there for me. I highly recommend this doctor and his staff.
Dr. Piras is a knowledegable doctor, but on a phone visit, he abruptly hung up on me in the middle of the visit, saying he would call me right back. I waited one hour and he never called me back, despite me even calling back to check in. His office staff fields his calls and either won't pass on messages to him, or Dr. Piras refuses to take the time to call me back and finish the appointment. ...
I was seen by Dr. Pires today. I experienced nothing but professionalism by the Dr and staff.
Excellent care. Now I see why everyone sings his praises. Just one small 30 min surgery and my leg pain that Ive had for years is gone! If your looking for results and want to get better. Don't waste your time with anyone else.
I recently had a procedure with Dr. Pires that proved to relief my leg pain and now I am back to exercising and getting back in shape. He is the best around
I have been a patient of Dr. Pires for several years. He has treated me for numerous issues from migraine headaches, to back issues, to shoulder and neck issues etc. He has an extremely gentle hand, a wonderful tender bedside manner and he explains everything that he is doing as he does it, so that you are not surprised before or during your procedure. I would highly recommend this wonderful doctor to anyone that needs to get their pain under control. I’m so grateful to have found this special caring tender individual who has helped me more than I can even imagine.
My primary doctor set up an appointment for me to see this “pain doctor that was new in town”. When I arrived, I realized that this pain group had been in town for a while. Regardless, I went in. My appointment was to see Jamie Duncan, PA-C. A male doctor followed us and stood in the doorway, which I thought was a little strange. Because he didn’t come in and close the door behind him, everything he said could be heard by most, if not all, the people in the office. I had to call the office twice to find out his name because he never introduced himself. I was told his name is DR.PIRES. Jamie was very quiet even though my appointment was supposed to be with her. DR. PIRES stood in the doorway and he never asked me why I was there or what my diagnosis was. He told me that he knew ALL the pain doctors in Fresno (I had recently moved from Fresno) and then he asked me who I had seen. I told him the names of two doctors I had seen in Fresno and he didn’t know either of them. Then he told me that “I WAS DOING NOTHING BUT WASTING HIS TIME!”. Then he turned to leave continuing to talk as he walked down the hallway. I told him he was rude so he turned and came back - I was so upset by then I can’t remember what he said. In all, he only spoke for a few minutes but everything he said and how he said it was rude, showing no concern for me, the patient. I believe what he did was a HIPPA VIOLATION. I still don’t know why he stood in the doorway when my appointment was NOT with him. I left the office in tears. I thought pain specialists were supposed to see patients with chronic pain and figure out a plan that would improve our quality of life. I had heard about several patients who moved to the San Luis Obispo area because the weather is mild year round. However, they had to move back to where they came from because they could not find a pain doctor here that would continue their treatment as it had been where they lived. 1) we can’t afford to move again and 2) I can’t tolerate the Central Valley heat so I’m stuck here. They actually billed my insurance $270 for that 5 minute appointment. Very disappointed!!
I feel I got more information from Dr. Pires, and appreciate answering my questions. The procedure (injection) in my back had very little pain, and I appreciated Dr. Pires telling me everything he was doing as he was doing the procedure.
What a great doc to have on my team. He was recommended by my doctor at UCLA and has been very successful at getting me back to jogging after years of not due to my sciatica. No more leg pain!
Working in a hospital, I appreciate a doctor who blends competence with a great bedside manner; Dr. Pires is that doctor. Top notch!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
