Dignity Health Home Health's Online Review Report Card

On Tuesday, January 11, 2022 I went to Dignity Health Urgent Care in Atascadero to get treated for a painful joint in my left hand. I have a medical exemption from wearing a face mask from my ENT physician but did wear a plastic face shield upon entering the lobby. I showed the employees at the front desk a copy of the medical exemption from wearing a mask. She contacted the medical director, Lisa Vasak, MD, and told me that Dr. Vasak told her that I needed to wear a face mask or I could not be seen by their treating heath care practitioner. Dignity Health Urgent Care refused to honor me medical exemption from wearing a face mask even though I was wearing a face shield that covers more of my face than a mask does. Dignity Health Urgent Care denied me treatment because I would not wear a mask.I then made arrangements for being seen at another urgent care, MedPost Urgent Care at 7330 El Camino Real, Atascadero, obtaining an appointment at 11:00 am today. I arrived shortly before 11:00 am and filled out the required paperwork prior to being seen by a practitioner. I was wearing my plastic face shield and had my written medical exemption from wearing a mask with me. Neither the employee at the front desk nor the medical assistant nor the nurse practitioner said anything to me about not wearing a mask. My left hand was examined and they performed X-rays of my hand and I received a referral to a hand specialist MD in San Luis Obispo. They were professional and seemed to really care about my condition; not so with Dignity Health Urgent Care.Dignity Health Urgent Care does not really deserve even one star but there is no way to designate a rating with less than one star.

So disappointed in this urgent care facility.  I went in on Friday for an infection.   In hindsight I dont remember anyone verifying my birthrate.   I tried to pick up my prescription.   I was told that I had nothing there.   After looking at my discharge papers I find out that it is not me on the paperwork.   Same first and last name.  14 years difference in age.   How could this get through the intake person at the desk,  the nurse who did primary assessment and the doctor at treatment.    I am totally amazed at the incompetent handling of all this.   The facility was closed the next day and when I finally found someone to talk to, corporate they totally put me off.   On Monday I called to straighten this out and  try to talk to the Dr,who was working at the time I was told she would call me right back.   Well I got a call from a nice employee that said I was not in the system.   Wtf.   I had given them my dl and ins cards.  Seems they called the pharmacy and set up a new script.  Or should I say the original.    This rx was for an antibiotic for a serious infection.  Only 2 1/2 days after appointment.   All in all I feel this place is no where for anyone that has a medical problem.    They are very lax on patient data and a problem with security.   I understand I should have verified my data but being in pain I saw my name and looked no further.    I have tried to get some answers but the doctor hasn't called back or the office manager has not returned my calls.

The day I visited they had two new gals at the front desk, so nice, happy, and helpful!! I visited on 1/22.  I hope they are permanent hires, because they are awesome.  As always Kristen Is phenomenal and takes the time to really listen and gets you the help you need.  Her goal is for you to feel good and she is great at it!!

We took my boyfriend's daughter after she hurt her arm falling off her scooter. The experience was amazing from the lady at the reception desk to the dr. They can do X-rays! Everything was quick but thorough and they even followed up. They accepted Cencal which a lot of the urgent cares don't. I will definitely go there again.

I have been going to this urgent care for multiple COVID tests in preparation for an upcoming surgery. The results come back quickly, and the doctor always call immediately with the results. The staff has been very professional at each visit. Dr. Vasak is extremely knowledgeable, and has been such a huge help during this process. I would highly recommend this facility!

Not even worth 1 star.  Had a appointment for a preop Covid test and arrived 10 minutes early.  After about one and a half hours waiting I got my test.  Was told you just get behind all the other walkins and wait.  Reservations means nothing, and nobody there cares.  Asked to talk to the person in charge but, guess what, she was out.  Don't expect to get a call back from Amber or anyone else if you complain.  Avoid this place like the plague.

I recently just went into the office as a first time patient on 3/16/2020. I went in showed my ID with my insurance card saying I need to pay $20 for my copayment  The lady at the front said no you only pay $15 I said no it's $20 here you go . I gave her $20 and she Gave me $5 back. I thought it was weird that it wasn't $20 I just recently got a invoice balance of $5 I told her If I see an invoice in the mail I would be upset because I was here in person trying to give her the actual amount and not be inconvenienced. Now I'm having to Call this 1800 number to pay it since we are in a global pandemic . I don't live near the office area. So now I try to call and there are no agents available? I have to now call tomorrow again just to pay this hopefully getting an agent. On top of this first time experience The lady at the front did not check me  in, she checked in someone who wasn't even there . The next thing I hear from a nurse walking out saying over and over again  "Carol?""Carol?" Looking at me . I say I'm not Carol.....my name is Elizabeth .. she than looks at the lady who checked me In and asks, "who did you check in?" She checked in the wrong person who wasn't even in the office and had to manually check me in after waiting  45 min for my appointment. So in conclusion she messed up my co payment ,my check in and inconveniencing me to pay over the phone for her screw up.

Professional, approachable, and honest. The more honesty (two way street), the more help. This team (all staff) works as one unit, it's like a breath of fresh air. 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️👨‍🔬👩‍🔬👨‍💻👩‍💻👍
