Jon Erickson's Online Review Report Card

I can't believe these reviews- lol!  I absolutely LOVE Dr. Erickson.  I've taken all of my kids there for various skin and acne problems and I finally went today for a questionable new spot on my neck.  His staff is SOOOOO sweet and he is efficient, no nonsense, fast, friendly and reasonably priced.  It's easy to get an appointment fairly soon and you are in and out of there in less than 20 minutes.  I usually spent 20 in the waiting room alone for most appointments!  I drive from Rocklin to see him...... don't listen to these other cry babies who wanted him to hold their hand and spent all day with them.  Just be clear on what your questions/issues are and don't be afraid to ask a question when you have him right there with you.

Dr. Erikson may be a super awesome dermatologist as the other reviews here say. However due to the most lax mask protocol I have witnessed through this entire pandemic by his office staff, I walked out before I got to meet him. It was that bad. Like I've seen more care taken by 7-11 workers to both wear a mask and wear it properly. It was THAT BAD. Read on for details. Or stop here and just know that if proper mask wearing by medical staff, or at all, is important to you, you should probably go somewhere else. Let me start by saying that I have a young child who has asthma and has already in his short life been hospitalized twice for a common respiratory infection called RSV. So I'm very careful about mask wearing, social distancing, and where I take him. Today's visit to the dermatologist wasn't supposed to include him but because my husband had a lot of meetings I ended up bringing him along. We've been to other doctors appointments and I have felt quite safe about going to medical settings because of the protocols they have in place, like temp taking, mask wearing and physical distancing enforcement, and other cleanliness protocols. But when we walked in this office we were greeted by completely maskless front desk worker. I immediately said, "wow! No masks here??" And she said, "oh hold on, let me grab it." She put on a droopy black cloth mask that she didn't bother to even try to pull over her nose, and then handed me a wooden clip board with my new patient intake form to fill out. Most places have  "clean/dirty" pen cups, right? Even take out restaurants. But not here! And when I was done with my 1 page form I realized that there were about 50 blank copies underneath it, meaning that the same clip board was being given to each person coming in. Yeahh. Okayyyy. So I give it back to the lady at the desk and see another worker with no mask waiting on the other side of the counter. I again commented on the lack of masks in the office. As it turns out the other worker had on a plastic face shield but nothing covering her mouth and nose otherwise. She informed me that her mask was much safer than the DOUBLE MASKS I'm wearing. Then after I took my seat the two women had a loud conversation about how they just felt SMOTHERED by their masks and COULDN'T BREATHE! I get called back to the exam room a moment later by face shield woman, older lady wearing leopard print who I now realize is the medical assistant. As we go in the room I'm pretty agitated and nervous. Here's me with my vulnerable son, and these people who aren't doing the bare minimum to protect people like him in a small indoor space. I said to her, "I'm sorry, I'm just feeling really nervous and scared because of the way masks aren't being worn properly in this office!" She said, "Well don't worry, I'm not sick!" I said, "You do realize that you could have been exposed yesterday and not know it, or not have symptoms and pass it along right?" She repeated, "Well I'm not sick!" I looked this woman dead in the eyes and I said, "I DON'T KNOW YOU. AND I DON'T TRUST YOU. MAY I PLEASE SPEAK TO THE DOCTOR." Her response was to slam down her folder and fling open the door, stalking out. I then decided that if the attitude in this office was of disregard of both California law and basic science, I was outta there. So we left. And that was it. I am truly appalled and shaken by this whole experience. Because if this is how they feel at work in a *medical environment*, I can only imagine what they're doing after they clock out. What they do in their personal life could hurt my child. Maybe I'm being a Karen. Idgaf. My kid is more important than your politics and whatever Facebook article you read about masks making you breathe C02 or government mind control or whatever madness you believe. So keep the copay, my dude. I'll never go back there again. Also plan on filing a formal complaint with the State. Bye.

My husband saw for a full body check. Dr said everything good. I said I want you to see my Dermatologist Dr Muelenoff and get the one on back checked especially. Biopsy done and basil cell and needs 2nd surgical appt to remove. Also one on his forehead he was fine came back basil cell and his nose was treated as well. I dont think he should be practicing anymore. He rushes in and aims and shoots then goodbye.

Honestly the worst doctor I've ever seen or been referred to. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone even if my life depended on it. Completely uninterested in my concerns and dismissive. He was out of the room in five minutes and did absolutely NOTHING to help me. Unbelievable.

Just went to see Doctor Erickson...it was so rushed..I'd been in years earlier..wish I had remembered how uninterested he was in my issue a as he was walking out the door I asked if he could check my face..he came back to the room with the freeze bottle sprayed my face before I could close my eyes and said it's pre  cancer...walked out the door... unbelievable!!!!! Won't be back...

I only gave the star for the office staff, who were exceptionally friendly.Dr. Erickson was on time. I had an ongoing issue for a few months, and had tried everything I knew of to resolve it with no luck. He was completely uninterested, looked at it for about 5 seconds, told me to just try was I was already doing WHICH I SAID WAS NOT WORKING, that's why I was there. He gave me samples of a medication for a condition he said I didn't have??????????. He had one foot out the door from the minute I came in. There was zero interest in my problem. Biggest waste of time and money ever, the worst MD appt. I have ever had. So now I have to make an appt. with another dermatologist who actually gives a crap. very upset.

AN ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT DERMATOLOGIST. NEVER A LONG WAIT. HE LISTENS TO YOU CAREFULLY AND THEN GETS RIGHT TO THE POINT. DOES NOT WASTE YOUR TIME.. POLITE AND FRIENDLY. A VERY SWEET MAN.

For the last 4-5 years I've gone to this doctor because what he gives me for my psoriasis is not working.He tells me to keep using the same meds and it will be okay.  Then I tell him I really just want to make sure they are psoriasis, because i'm worried they might be cancer.  He reassures me they aren't and I need to be more diligent about using meds on all these places twice a day.Every year the conversation was exactly the same.  This year I went in the spring, but things were getting worse so I decided to get a second opinion.  Guess what?  The new dermatologist took 4 biopsies immediately.  He wouldn't even look at rest of the sores as he couldn't believe I had so many problems.  After finding out 4 out of 4 biopsies were malignant, I went back to new dermatologist.  This time he took 5 more biopsies.  3 of the 5 are malignant.  In the meantime, I'm having mohs on 7 cancers and we still haven't addressed the psoriasis.......This is more important!!Just think all this could have been taken care of a few years back and I wouldn't have to be wondering how I'm gonna pay for all this!I'd recommend anyone BUT Dr. Erickson.You'll be glad u didn't go to him!!

Erickson is extremely skilled. He performed a procedure at a speed that can only come from years of experience and repetition. He also is very nice and polite

I took my daughter here yesterday and we had a wonderful experience.  All staff members were very pleasant including the Dr. himself.  Our appt was at 3:00 and we were out by 3:30- fabulous!  He wrote her 3 different prescriptions to try and re-fills can be called in with out another visit- extra fabulous!
