Great experience. His was a second opinion visit. He offered an alternate treatment which was much less invasive. Very knowledgeable and kind. The staff was wonderful. Thank you all.
I haven't seen the doctor yet but was stuck in traffic then outside the office on time but by the time I figured out where to park, which floor to go to, found the office tried the doors then read the sign on the door, found my phone in my purse and dialed the number on the sign I was 15 minutes late and told they would have to reschedule. I told the receptionist to forget it. She agreed to see me after I begged all funny I have been waiting for almost an hour now! Rude reception!
I love Dr Eckermann he always answers my questions all the time even though I ask the same questions every visit he just laughs it off and explains himself over and over again Thank You Eckermann for everything
Dr Eckerman is very professional makes sure you understand the procedure beforehand . They made sure I had a nurse and therapist after my procedure. Someone keeps up with me to make sure I'm doing well. Im very happy with my spinal stimulator I have almost no pain and would recommend the stimulator and Dr. Eckerman.
Office staff was very nice and professional. Dr Ackermann I found to be quite patient while explaining procedures in detail emphasizing what his patients should expect. Very nice man. The wait was a little long.
Excellent care and experience and outcome!
Fantastic🌞🌞🌞!!!
This review is more about the office and the total experience I had at the office rather than a review about Dr. Jan Eckermann. Keep in mind that businesses are dealing heavily with prevention of coronavirus transmission and so their practices are affected by those concerns. In my experience some providers are coping better than others. The experience with Dr. Eckermann's office was not great. It began at the locked door which asked patients to call or text when they arrive. There were a few chairs outside the door so I called and had a seat. I was told that they had limited seating inside so some of us had to wait in the hallway. The receptionist brought me paperwork to fill out. I waited approximately 30-40 minutes past my appointment time before I was invited into the office and an exam room. I could see that the handling of patients was very much constrained by the small office which very much needs updating. I actually experienced these same conditions at another Dignity Health office where orthopedic patients were crammed into a small office which had very uncomfortable chairs. It is impossible not to compare the Dignity Health offices to my new general practitioner at Adventist Health where waiting rooms are large and they leave the door open for ventilation. My experience with Dr Jan Eckermann was also 3 stars. I was disappointed that he only briefly looked at the 2 page letter where I had concisely recorded my medical history and most importantly, my questions for him. The questions were highlighted in yellow on the second page. I noticed that when he turned to the second page, he stopped reading. He already knew what he was going to say because he had looked at my MRI's and recommended that I go to a surgeon at USC where they were more qualified to help me. So he did not directly answer a couple of my pressing concerns. He then left the exam room without asking me if I had anymore questions. Then I did not get to hear the outcome of the call because I needed to use the restroom which was located down the hall outside his office. By the time I got back to the office, I was confronted with a locked door again. I knocked and it was answered by a masked receptionist who was speaking to someone on a cell phone. I asked the receptionist to request the doctor to call me so I could find out what happens next, but It was very difficult to talk to someone engaged in another conversation on the phone. She closed the door and I left. So I felt that I did not get to finish my appointment and learn what comes next. I never received a call back from the doctor or the receptionist. Overall, I feel that the coronavirus and the small office environment has created a problematic situation at Dr Eckermann's office. I know that they are trying to do the best they can to deal with their patients, but the experience seemed very impersonal and chaotic. I think they need to take a hard look at their office procedures and make some changes to make it a more efficient, comfortable and caring environment. Also, Dr Eckermann does not do complicated thoracic surgeries, so if this is your issue, the most you can expect is a referral to USC.
Just met with De. Eckermann and he explained my upcoming procedure in great detail. I am looking forward to getting my stimulator placed, hopefully soon!
He takes the time to make sure you are well informed about procedure. His staff are all friendly and supportive.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
