These people are terrible. More to come. Despite a previous lengthy appointment with one of the hospital anaesthesiologists the anaesthesiologist on the day of my surgery was about to medicate me without knowing the most basic and important of instructions easily found in my record that I suffer an obstructed airway. The hospital had someone who appeared to have just been pulled off the street wheel me out of the hospital in a wheelchair when I was released who uttered not one word of friendliness on the trip to my car.As my family I away we noticed the hospital medical staff had released me from the hospital with the IV tubings still in my arm. It turns out I am not the only person this has happened to. Upon going back into the hospital the nurse who had been helping me had gone to lunch possibly explaining her lack of care with me as a patient.You can disregard the concerns expressed in response to other reviews below from hospitals Patient Relations and the Social Work area. The hospital and this department in particular do not have genuine care about patients well being. Their focus is on protecting the hospital.Google notified me the hospital added a comment to my review which I include below referring me to Patient Relations.I actually had contacted Patient Relations originally on the day of my surgery months ago. Ms. Rose Alameda the manager in the department showed herself to lack competence followthrough and most importantly to be a dishonest person. Ms. Holly Colin the director of Patient Relations appears to be an untruthful person as well and does not follow through with what she indicates she is going to do.After repeatedly reaching out to Ms. Colin for help in Ms. Alamedas absence the hospital referred me to the Executive Department who then transferred my telephone call to Ms. Colin despite my request to not be transferred to patient relations given the very poor experience I had experienced with them. This department Patient Relations just seems to be in place as a place holder for and to protect the hospital.Ms. Colin told me she had contacted me a couple of weeks earlier leaving me a voicemail message requesting information. I received no missed telephone calls from either her or the hospital during the time period she indicated nor did I receive any voicemail messages from either her or anyone else associated with the hospital. Telling is that she could never provide me with the date of this supposed telephone call and voicemail message.Ms. Colin then tried to blame my missing her telephone call on my travelling. I was away from my primary address for which I had provided her advanced notice however I was in located in one place for the entire period she indicated well within cell phone reach and everybody else had been able to contact me just fine and was also able to leave me voicemail messages if I was unavailable. This is what you get here from Alta Bates and from the department the hospitals Social Care person refers you to for help.Seeing so many other very poor reviews listed below I have no idea how google has a score for the hospital over one or two stars. It doesnt make sense. You can do a very easy online internet search on Alta Bates and their commercial claim handlers Sedgwick Claim Management and you will easily find successful lawsuits against each of them. And these are just some of the publicized ones who knows about the unpublicized ones.The State of California even recently fined Alta Bates for not providing adequate protective gear for its own Covid first responders and at least one nurse at the hospital sadly lost their life because of the hospitals absence of care.The Court in one of the lawsuits against Sedgwick Alta Bates claim handler ruled against them finding a number of errors on the part of Sedgwick and that its decisionmaking process did not “hold water.” The Court went on to state the insurance companys claim handling was selfserving arbitrary and capricious. My review is solely for the ED Patients are told to wait outside in the COLD AND RAIN if they have certain symptoms how is that a good plan?Is Sutter trying to make people sicker?When I asked the triage RN if I could wait in the inside waiting room I was told I can sit outside or wait in the COVID room those were my only 2 options. Again really?I also have serious HIPPA concerns about this place... I literally was sitting next to a female OUTSIDE while she had her appointment with the Dr. I heard her full past medical history medications and what she was there for.SPEECHLESS such poor care can happen the one of the richest economies in the world.

The doctors and nurses there saved my life Their prompt diagnosis and prognosis is why I’m still alive today3 yearsso I’m forever grateful

Came here for the birth of my daughter. They managed to suck almost every bit of joy of the experience from me. Out of at least 50 nurses that I have delt with only three have been kind and most really dont seem to know what they are doing. All while being condescending to me. Not to mention the security. I have been harassed every time I go anywhere no matter how many different clearance passes I get from them. Have gotten well over 7. I have bad anxiety and they put it through the roof. Im so stung out by them that I am leaving my baby and girl here who need me for my own mental well being. A c section birth and she needs me but I cant take it anymore. Do not ever choose here for the birth of your child.

I was looking through my birth certificate and it shows that I was born in this hospital 13 years ago

Came in with excruciating pain. I am aware wait times in an ER can be long but this was absurd. I have amazing reviews for the registrar wish I knew their names Xray tech and guards who were wonderful However the doctor Dr. Wilkey not sure if spelling correctly was extremely condescending. You make enough to at least pretend you care about your patients. I am still in excruciating pain but am unsure if I’d rather cry at home for the next few days in pain than experience the condescension from the Dr. who admitted had seen me in the waiting room where I was sobbing in pain and showed the worst patient care I have ever seen. I am a premed student and this experience is one I will remember as what NOT to do as a doctor in the future.

Hospital is alright . SECURITY allied Barton not all but some make alta bates name go down the drain straight disrespectful no manners to the patients. Jacqueline needs to be retrained shes as rude as it gets. I mean seems as if they just hiring just to fill in the spots.Alta bates needs to get it together how can security get paid just to sit around and be on their phone and disrespect the patients. Also complain about Oh I cant wait to get off i got thirty minutes left.Tuck in your shirts please looks like you guys are walking around with a gown.

My mom had surgery here and it went well. However the nurses are rude to patients and are physically hurting them. I understand that it is a high stress and a tiring job and emotions should be left at home but empathy and genuine care for the patients should not be left at home. We are going to look for a different hospital if we have future surgeries.

In winter so COLD that workers and security guards were wearing down winter coats and boots. Medicare Ratings are below national averages.

Waited 30 min in the lobby to be check in for the lab . Gave all of my information and i have been told that they do not work with Sutter Health care plus HMO and i must pay for my lab test . I said ok fine how much will be ? Oh let me call …. Oh i am sorry we don’t do prenatal lab test here Ok it’s a freaking hospital I saw probably 5 pregnant women walked in where do you send them for lab tests . I wasted an hour with this incompetent person
