Daniel T Oberlin's Online Review Report Card

My appointment with Dr. Daniel Oberlin was an unsatisfactory & frustrating experience. Daniel kept gaslighting me with, "Many guys' penises look like this; it's all normal." in regard to the enlargement of my corona gland and the deterioration of my foreskin. I repeatedly told him, "No, it is actually not normal; my penis looks like this because it has sustained physical damage as a consequence of 6 years of excessive masturbation. I know that because my penis did NOT look like this before 2019. It looked much healthier than it does now." The outcome was him just saying, "I'm sorry, but there's nothing that can be done to change the look of your penis--no surgery or anything that can be done. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do to help you." I don't believe that whatsoever. This appointment was a waste of time that got me NO HELP in the end.

I had a single Lupron injection in late February and had horrific side effects some of which linger until now(July). I made them stop after one shot and when I complained about sever cognitive dissonance which has me housebound for two months, they simply dropped me, as in zero communication with no after radiation protocol. I am going to UCSF Urology for treatment by “real” Urologists and Neurological help. They simply treat everyone the same, warning of “mild fatigue”. Talking with others who suffered from Lupron. May go after the manufacture as well!

We had the best experience with Dr. Oberlin. He is attentive, has wonderful bedside manner, and is a great surgeon! My husbands surgery went perfect without any post op complications. He made personal calls to follow up and addresses any concerns promptly. His office staff is also great. I would highly recommended Dr. Oberlin for all your Urology needs! We are lucky to have been referred and be under his care.

I had Peyronie's Disease and was very anxious about any surgical treatment to correct it. I did a consultation with Dr. Oberlin to see what my options were. He was well-versed in PD and immediately helped to calm my nerves about using Xiaflex, a new drug to non-surgically treat penile curvature. Dr. Oberlin is a first-rate doctor. He was up-to-date on the latest research, kind, and, when necessary, emotionally available to help me with the complex emotions that this disease can mobilize. He returned my calls and emails quickly and made himself available after hours to discuss treatment complications. I have the highest respect for Dr. Oberlin. You'd be in great hands if you need his services.

Dr. Oberlin is the most talented, skilled surgeon in the Bay Area and beyond. I was incredibly lucky to find him. Not only is he a skilled surgeon and physician, he is one of the most kind, compassionate and caring people I have ever met. During one of the most difficult days of my life, Dr. Oberlin and his staff arranged to see me that very same day - he provided me with a thorough explanation about my condition and options for treatment - he put me and my family at ease. He gave me his email and phone number; but he would generally follow up with me before I contacted him - he genuinely cares. I also was up and about 1 week after he performed a complicated robotic procedure on me; 2 months later and the scars are barely visible. I wish there were more physicians like Dr. Oberlin in every field of medicine and in every hospital - he is one of a kind. If you have a urology condition of any type - rush to see him.

Wow, what can I say about the best Dr. I have known? Dr. Oberlin is a kind, caring, straightforward, realistic, compassionate, and competent specialist - easily tops in the state/country. I sought three separate opinions on how to handle my cancer and all agreed with Dr. Oberlin - but none had his positive demeanor and accessibility to answer ANY question at any time via email, phone call, or in person. I haven’t even told him all this but - he saved my life, thank you! I give this man my highest recommendation to treat you, and your family. I trusted him with my life and he came through - I had a few doubts, but he didn’t :) What I also like about him is his ability to care, but keep it real with what may or may not happen - real talk, no bullshit, which I appreciate - as do most men. Obviously he has the highly technical skills as a surgeon to complete the plan in the best way possible as well - an outstanding Doctor :)

Dr. Oberlin provided me with excellent care when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He was attentive, provided detailed information, and worked hard to ensure I was comfortable with every step we took. He always made sure that I understood what options were available and the pros and cons of each option. His office made sure we were supported and comfortable both before and after the procedure, making the process as smooth as possible helped my recovery tremendously. I would highly recommend Dr. Oberlin if you are looking for an excellent surgeon!

Dr. Oberlin, and the whole team at Golden Gate Urology was extremely helpful in my medical needs. I came in for surgery and was amazed at the service I received. No question was too small to ask, coming up to the surgery. The after-care was amazing. I was able to speak to the Dr. and staff about what my next steps were. He even took the time to call me and ask how I was doing personally. For me, the confidence and expertise Dr. Oberlin displayed made my worries disappear and made me confident too. I give the highest recommendation to Dr. Oberlin and the Golden Gate Urology.
