List of Instant Urgent Care's Reviews
Rude, Ignorant staff and PA. Scammy operation. Couldn't bill my insurance correctly and caused major hassle. I'd give the whole story here but then they will have taken up even more of my time. There are other urgent care centers that are much more professional. Avoid this one.
Literally a SCAM!!! Was charged $800 for a Covid test and I have insurance!! After many attempts to contact them they would never respond. I will never come back and asked that they remove all of my information from their servers. So scary
I wish I could give them negative stars. I never leave negative reviews but this company needs to be SHUT DOWN! they are a SCAM organization who will lie about taking your insurance and then slam you with a $436 bill for a Covid test. imagine charging someone 435 dollars for a test that they could get for free someone else during a pandemic when times are already hard enough! this organization is disgusting and should be ashamed of themselves.
Joining the LONG list of nevermind 1 star reviews about my experience with Instant Urgent Care. They are LITERALLY a scam organization using classic"bait and switch" techniques. I went for COVID test they claim to accept insurance (bait) then two weeks after you get a bill for $225 said they don't accept your insurance (switch). The operator on the phone when I called warned me this could get sent to a collection agency. That was the last time I've been able to get anyone on the phone. This is BEYOND frustrating!!!
If I could give negative stars I would. My part was injured over the weekend and so scheduled an urgent care appointment at this location. She received a text reminder 30 minutes prior to the appointment but when she showed up, the entire clinic was closed! Injured, not feeling well, it's hard enough to get your butt to the clinic, and the doctor (or staff) doesn't show up!
If I could give negative stars, I would. The staff and on-line booking is fine, but DO NOT get a COVID test. It is a SCAM. My family of 4 went to get a test in December, right before gathering with family for the holidays, simply to be sure, and a month later we were sent 4 bills for $374 each. Each bill stated we had a "clinician visit," which is nonsense - Instant Urgent Care told us (we did not request this) a "physician would call us" as we waited in the car. We spoke to a clinician for 5 seconds - again, not necessary, we had no symptoms, and we didn't ask or sign up for a talk with anyone. Insurance assures us that we won't have to pay, but still, it's my time and a paper trail nightmare. DO NOT GO HERE.
VETERANS STAY AWAY, the staff will LIE to your face and say you will not be billed, but you will be! This is the worst experience I've ever had with a health facility. I injured myself July 2021 and needed stitches urgently. I called the VA hospital in SF and they directed me to the nearest clinic where I could use my VA insurance. I drove myself to this clinic, walked inside bleeding and the nurse told me I couldn't sit inside because of covid precautions, even though I was the only person inside and was wearing a mask. So I left limping and halfway down the sidewalk, the nurse came out to tell me I could sit inside because the doctor on staff said I could. No empathy, should've left then. Inside they asked for my debit card info even though I told them I'm a vet (says so on my license )and was not supposed to pay. They insisted on getting my info and said I'd be reimbursed by the VA, this sounded wrong, but I was in a lot of pain and gave them my info so I could get treated. I returned a week later to get my stitches removed and asked about being reimbursed, and the staff told me the VA would take a long time to get back to them, insinuating they had filed my claim. A few days later I saw an email from Instant Urgent saying I had an upcoming bill, to my surprise they had billed me AGAIN for removing my stitches without even telling me, had I known I would've driven to the VA hospital for free treatment. So I went back to Iuc, IN PERSON, to clarify that they were not supposed to be billing me, and that I was supposed to be getting reimbursed for my first payment. The staff assured me I wouldn't be billed again, and that their billing department would contact me. Surprise, surprise, I was billed again, I called the VA and they told me that no one had filed a claim for me and they couldn't really do anything about it, and that I should've never given them my info in the first place! So I went back AGAIN, and explained to them that they needed to bill Tri West, and literally gave hand written instructions, and a website link explaining the steps they needed to take, and yet nothing was done. Days went by, and I called my bank to remove the charges and explained my situation. Instant Urgent care kept sending me letters and emails saying I owed them money. I called several times and no one answered so I left voicemails explaining my situation. After about 6-7 calls, billing got back to me...once... and never followed up. I texted the number they ask people to text and no one answered. Fast forward to Dec, I stopped receiving emails and thought they finally filed my claim, and didn't even bother going back for my reimbursement because at that point I was exhausted, and wanted to move on. Flash forward Jan, I moved to another state, and in Feb, I got a letter from collections saying I owe IUC money. They sent me to COLLECTIONS ladies and gents, after I spent HOURS on the phone with the VA, and wasted HOURS at their office to explain that they were not supposed to bill me, and after I called MULTIPLE times. I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, I recommend others do too if they treat you like this, and they finally tried to get in touch with me. 7 MONTHS later, and no apologies, only called again to say I wasn't insured, which I am, literally just got free medical treatment a week ago via the VA. ugh. so incredibly frustrating. IUC staff made a mistake labeling me as uninsured, and conveniently did not take a picture of my drivers license which says I'm a vet. They also waited 180 days to send me to collections, which is the cutoff time a company has to file a claim with Tri-West to get reimbursed for providing medical care to a veteran. They did nothing to fix the situation or to reach out to me. Overall horrible experience, there is no email where you can email someone if you need legal proof to document your case, and the number they provide usually goes to voicemail, I gave up and paid 500 dollars for a few stitches, that's a lot, especially when it should've been free. If you're a vet just drive to the VA hospital, save yourself hours of time, headaches, and anger. Yours truly, An angry former US Marine.
The employees here are so rude. I took my friend here to get a test and she was already sick experiencing symptoms and she was so rude to us, being so confusing. I don't understand why this lady had to be so mean to us and I hope that she never has to make anyone feel this way again. Her name is Tiffany.
Holy moly, my 4 year old and I followed the clinic's instructions and ended up waiting for an hour to get a Covid test only to be told that the system had cancelled the appointment because it had taken them too long to collect our information. I literally cried. How could you do this to a child who needs a clean PCR to go back to school? And they said there was "nothing we can do." Beware.
THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. Talk about gutting a pandemic-ravaged public. :( This place is offering Covid tests, but what they don't tell you when you make an appointment online is that the tests will run you $225. (!!!!!) Try calling the # - You literally cannot get a person on the phone. If you make an appointment here, don't expect any transparency. No apologies for the fact that cost is not even mentioned online. The worst part is that they are absolute jerks about it. I'm sure this happens regularly, because the staff seem absolutely sourpuss about it. You think they'd at least be kind to their customers, who are seeking Covid-related information during holiday season, and are pretty desperate ourselves...? Literally not a single person who works here was even nice. Ask for information and you will get a sassy, obnoxious answer. As if you're causing them a problem by not knowing things. As if you're supposed to magically know things that the clinic doesn't tell you. As if it's YOUR problem that they don't disclosing a batsh*t charge of $225 for a stupid, and very critical, test. They won't give you any info about insurance billing, either - it's all out of pocket. So uncool that they're raking in $$$ hand over fist to provide tests that you can purchase at CVS for $20. Shame shame shame shame shame shame shame on you.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
