Lifelong Ashby Health Center's Online Review Report Card

No complaints about the doctor, but the admin side of the house needs to get their act together! I've been waiting for a referral to a cardiologist and rheumatologist for over 12 business days already and calling for the last 5 business days straight leaving urgent messages daily but the referral department never calls back. They don't care about their patient's chronic condition and dire needs as I've repeatedly stated that I'm running low on medication. They lied about having submitted the referral to my insurance as I called my insurance and they confirmed that they never received any authorization request. Never have I dealt with such a poorly managed clinic. Steer away from this place if you have any urgent needs as they won't act with any sense of urgency to take care of your health.

Dr. Bores is the best family doctor.

I went there for the first time today. Due to the pandemic and my loss of income, I wasn't able to keep my self-paid plan via Covered California. I was a bit scared about having to go with Medi-cal and not being able to afford my previous coverage/plan.They have been great about making sure I'm getting my medications, I met with the Nurse Practioner Ashley Ro, who did a wonderful job of listening to my current and past health issues, and for being attentive. By the time I got home (@ 20 minutes), she called me with a follow up on the new medications, and shortly after that Walgreen's called to let me know they were ready for pick up.

I was very nervous and worried about my body the whole time due to the sugary I had 3 years ago. I was confused by the results but my previous doctor didn’t really explain to me what was happening. Kim has a magical power, she’s different!! she makes sure I understand what was going on, my doubts, and what are the on going treatments. I felt so much better after my first visit already. ( I wish I could give her a big big hug)

The practitioners here range from good to great. Their admin and support staff range from adequate, if you're lucky, to horrific.Perhaps they are hiring them through a program that trains/hired people who cannot otherwise find or keep jobs? After dealing with them for several years this is my only logical conclusion.This is yet another example of how poor/underinsured people get treated in the US, especially in the bay. You can never get ahold of a practitioner directly. You have to call a laughably bad phone tree for lifelong in general, then they play telephone with you. The people that answer the phone or call you seem to be completely uninformed and uninterested in anything medical, in patient relations, or doing their job.you'll get multiple phone calls and voicemails and then staff will claim that never happened. You'll get gaslit, tone policed, and lied to. It's ok, right? You're poor, so you're lucky to have health care at all.The practitioners themselves here are dedicated and awesome. If you decide to go with lifelong (or more likely, have no other options), I'd recommend never having any phone interactions with any staff, and only interacting with your specifically medical practitioners through mychart.

This is NOT part of the Sutter Ashby campus. This Lifelong is on Adeline St. The one that was close to Ashby has been permanently closed.

Over all, I've had a good experience here. Everyone I met was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, after I switched providers I learned that my doctor at LifeLong had been administering my medication wrong for the past year, so I can no longer recommend LifeLong.

This place is completely incompetent I requested a refill of my Suboxone my doctor left and I didn’t assign a new doctor to me then they sent the prescription to the wrong pharmacy which of course didn’t have it. I specifically told them not to send it to the San Rafael Safeway Pharmacy but rather to the CVS pharmacy in Greenbrae. When I found out they sent it to the wrong pharmacy didn’t have it in stock as I suspected I called in at 8:30 am advised Them of their mistake. They said they would resend it to the proper Pharmacy I waited all day I called five times and left messages and they never got around to sending in the prescription. These people are pathetic if I made a quarter of the mistakes that they do I would lose my job and I am a retired lawyer. I wouldn’t send my dog there are a bunch of incompetent losers. Don’t go there

Absolutely terrible. Dr Ashley Ro has failed me repeatedly in ways which have been significantly detrimental to my health. GO ANYWHERE ELSE!!

Acupuncture, Primary Care, Maternity, HIV/AIDS, Mental Health...I have been going there for about 5 years and have come to know patients that are being treated by one or more of all of them. I simply can not find a less than stellar aspect of the team at the Ed Roberts Campus. Before Covid, there was even FREE walk-in acupuncture clinic with Hope, who has been there for 20 + years. Bonney Lynch is the acupuncturist who handles the more involved cases and works with a level of care, compassion and integrity exceeded by none. Her appointments are always about an hour long and are not part of the free services that Hope offers.When I say holistic care, I mean these (primarily female) MDs , NPs, Therapists and Specialists work in tandem to give you the type of supportive care that feels like a warm hug. Ashby Bart literally stops UNDERNEATH the building and (pre-Covid) has an elevator that drops you right inside the building.They have just recently started limited in-person appointments for patients who need to be physically touched or treated. For example, I got a cortisone shot in my shoulder. At this date, there is only one access door to Campus, where you must have mask on, temperature taken and answer the COVID-19 Exposure Questions we have all come to memorize. Your provider will be ready for you by the time you get to the 2nd floor; if not, you may have a very short wait with no more than 2 or 3 Socially Distanced and masked patients. All doors are propped open and you can't walk ten feet without access to hand sanitizer. All appointments that can be done by phone/secure app have and will continue along thia line for foreseeable future. You can email your providers and THEY WILL UNFAILINGLY REPLY. Above and beyond the best general expec tr ed level of care on all accounts.
