Lifelong Over 60 Health Center's Online Review Report Card

Yes my doctor left I haven’t been assigned to a new doctor I’m in redraws from Suboxone therapy I haven’t been able to get anyone to order me some more because Dr. Nguyen left and they finally I told him specifically to call it to CVS pharmacy in Greenbrae but of course they couldn’t get that right so they called it in to the Safeway Pharmacy in San Rafael which I knew didn’t have it so I don’t understand how they could be so pathetic and not deal with this I’m in extreme distress from withdrawals I’ve had a call up like 10 times already and when they finally got around to sending a prescription they sent it to the wrong pharmacy. I don’t understand how somebody can be so incompetent and still be a healthcare provider. I need the number to the grievance department. I only go there because they take Medicare and Medi-Cal and I can’t afford a real doctor!

This is one of the worst medical facilities in the Bay Area. They DO NOT honor their mission statement. They are extremely rude to caregivers. They lie about the work they do. You cannot get an appointment when needed. They claim to do home visits but will cancel your appointment one hour before the doctor is due to arrive. They say they listen to the patients but when I requested a new doctor, REQUEST DENIED! When I said don’t send Dr. Pharma they sent her anyway! So if you want good medical care from a doctor who listens to patients and is genuinely concerned for your wellbeing, This is not the place to take your love one. PERIOD........

I have been receiving care at LifeLong Over 60 Health Center since 2014 and have always received excellent care. Everyone from day one has been skilled, knowledgeable, compassionate, kind and patient. The beautiful  folks  who answer the phones and  who check you in at  reception,  the wonderful medical assistants and phlebotomist in the lab, the doctors , PAs and NPs who provide primary care and the doctors who provide acupuncture have been so skilled , kind and helpful.  I've also received excellent eye care at the clinic. This last 6 weeks, I've had an extremely painful condition come up and have been able to get through to the Health Center immediately and get in to see a practitioner on short notice for pain relief and a possible reaction to medication.  When that wasn't possible on another day, I was referred to the LifeLong urgent care clinic nearby where I received immediate excellent care.  When I first started in 2014 there were serious difficulties with the communication and scheduling system;  difficulties with being able to get through to the Health Center and  being able to see any practitioner  outside of regularly scheduled appointments when a  problem arose unexpectedly. This has changed completely.  I'm very grateful to receive my healthcare at Over 60 and hope the practitioners and all who work there  receive the support they need from management and recognition for the excellent job they do.

I have been a member here for years and I am happy to say they have taken very good care of almost all aspects of my medical needs. I cannot recommend Over 60 Health Center highly enough.

As far as their service is concerned, I can't say.  I waited more than two weeks--during which I phoned three times--for them to get back to me with an appointment.  First I was told nothing.  Then I was told it could take up to 10 days.  After waiting and waiting and waiting, still no reply.  Mind you, this place is for people OVER 60, who don't have lots of time to wait.  If this is any measure of their responsiveness to clients' needs, it is no place for me, or maybe not for you either.

Although I have just changed to a somewhat younger physician, I remain verysatisfied with the services of all staff at the Over 60 Clinic.Dr. Chow is the best, and keeps my feet going!  I have just changed to a new internist,Dr. Floyd Huen, whom I have met before.  Every single staff person, as well as allthe doctors, are just the best at Lifelong Over 60 Health Center!Thank you for all that you do for so many of us!Appreciatively,Marion Rojas, North Oakland

I checked out the clinic after losing my health coverage; I was 62 at the time. I had not gone to a low-cost clinic in years (noisy, plastic chairs). My doc turned out to be OK (mostly I needed refills for my basic meds). I was called back a year later and had a physical (very cursory) and a botched pap test (ouch!); the lab test for the pap test was $125, despite it being inconclusive.I guess $80 is cheap for an appt, but not for me right now. I pay to get a doc to sign off on my meds. I got approved for a blood work-up but the cost was $600, if I paid in cash. I took a pass... so I get minimal care, and hang on for Medicare.
