List of Whole Family Acupuncture Clinic's Reviews
I highly recommend Teo Potts, LAc. I began working with him less than 6 months into Covid after my excellent, longtime MD-acupuncturist retired and sold him his practice. I interviewed Teo by phone along with others, which was enough to recognize his special qualities of empathy, deep listening, and curiosity for learning with me how best to approach a recent diagnosis I'd received from my Western doctor with Chinese medicine. He's helped me make a healing change to my daily diet, add wonderful herbs to my supplements regimen, and deepen my self-care in physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual ways. In the years since we started working together, I have not once doubted my choice. A few months after making this shift for myself, I started bringing my then 93-yo aunt (whom I cared for during the pandemic) every other week. Her trepidation quickly turned into enthusiastic anticipation, as her sessions offered both some relief from her complex health issues as well as the opportunity to be seen and embraced by Teo's warmth, wisdom, and care. It was a precious healing connection during a uniquely challenging and disconnected time. Teo is a treasure, as I hope you'll soon discover for yourself!
Teo's healing is simple - his aware presence offers a natural spaciousness that invites you into loving yourself more fully. At the same time, Teo's healing is impossible to categorize. I came to him with complaints that were unclear. Together we figured out I had a Lyme flare. He gave me a tremendously impactful formula. He was quick to put the disturbing symptoms into a bigger picture and offer remedies to balance them. He is a gifted herbalist, acupuncturist, and an astute, attuned listener.
I have been going to Teo for acupuncture services for over a year. His intuition, gentle and kind spirit, and deep knowledge of bodywork and healing have been a gift to receive. I originally went to address emotional concerns and have also benefited for physical concerns that have also arisen in our time working together. I trust in Teo's care very much and now bring my children to him for care as well. I highly recommend Teo and his team for acupuncture care, you will be in very skilled and good hands to address whatever ailments bring you to Whole Family Acupuncture.
I have been to several Acupuncturists over the years and Teo Potts is by far the best. I am so touched by the way he listens to me and understands beyond the problem I am presenting to the systems in the body that effect the issues. He is knowledgeable and gifted as a practitioner. I am lucky to have found him.
Teo is a masterful acupuncturist, herbalist, healer and teacher. He offers deep insight and humor to those he supports. I feel lucky to be his patient and always feel relief from body pain and stress-related complaints after my sessions with him.
I highly recommend, Whole Family Acupuncture off of Gilman Street in Berkeley. I was referred to visit Timothy Potts from a family friend and Timothy has improved my autoimmune disease, Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I have been going to him for over 4 years and don't plan on stopping my treatment with him any time soon. His knowledge of the body and how to heal it are remarkable. He loves what he does and is quick to offer several solutions to deal with whatever ales you. I also take herbs prepared by his assistant Celine who is equally a well knowledgeable acupuncturist in the making. They always make me feel welcomed and ready to assist me with a smile. My visits average about $147 for acupuncture and 3 weeks worth of herbs. The price is reasonable for the quality acupuncture rendered and each session is about 45 mins long. After my sessions I feel ready to tackle on the world and feel like I had a deep tissue massage. I live in Alameda and commute to north Berkeley because Teo is just that good. They have plenty of free parking as well. If you need acupuncture services don't hesitate to give them a try and tell them Lisa sent you!
I have been seeing Teo at Whole Family Acupuncture for over two years. He came highly recommended to me during a particularly challenging time in my life, where my wellbeing was in need of extra support. I've been receiving acupuncture for many years and feel that I am under the best possible care with Teo. Through acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and nutrition suggestions- he has helped me address a variety of chronic health issues I've been facing and supported me in moving through complex trauma. As a queer trans person, I feel safe, seen, and understood by Teo. He is extremely knowledgeable, skilled, intuitive, caring, humble, and humorous. His staff is warm and friendly, and his clinic is cozy and comfortable. I strongly recommend Whole Family Acupuncture as part of your self-care team and healing journey.
I have been seeing Teo for over a year now. We were working together to control my tinnitus. His once a week treatments, herbs and recommended meditation helped to both reduce the occurrence and intensity. We are now working on an upper respiratory congestion issue and my condition is approving. More importantly, I am not having to take strong anti-congestion medication that only marginally helped. In addition, over this past year, my 71 year old body has had its share of bumps and bruises. Teo's additional treatments helped to relieve the pain. Teo is not a miracle worker. However he has improved my well being. I definitely recommend you give him a chance to explain what he can and cannot do to help you.
Teo, at Whole Family Acupuncture is a deeply talented healer and acupuncturist. I have had a lot of acupuncture from numerous practitioner's around the bay and have learned that Teo's care, presence and generosity is unmatched. He is a true healer, with a natural intuition. I have always felt seen, celebrated and safe under his care. --Don't hesitate to book a session with him! I came to work with Teo in the spring of 2021. I had enrolled in a two year mindfulness training and I was beginning to notice how tender my body was becoming from all the practice. I was still recovering from being postpartum, the pandemic and a seriously tough patch with my husband and his start up. I was having chronic back pain and was beyond fatigued..........I was so so tired. Teo, treated my back pain from a holistic lens, taking into account my trauma, ancestry and spiritual practice and helped me over the course of 6 months rebuild my energy and a sense of well-being. I think what I found so surprising was I was able to move mountains of emotional back up, and release years of stress and anxiety. Teo was able to meet me where I was, he was able to intuit what kind of physical, emotional and spiritual work I was ready to do and supported me during a deeply transitional time. Since then I have referred numerous clients of my own to share his medicine! And collectively they have gotten so much out of working with him. and he is also great at treating ankle sprains, the common cold and the other viruses my 5 year old brings home monthly!
I have worked with many acupuncturists, healers, etc. and rarely have I had such a deep and powerful experience. Teo and his team have an outstanding standard of care. The level of being heard, listened too, and understood is next level. Beyond just getting the needles, I am being supported to truly understand my body, my condition, and things I should do for lifestyle, food, etc. The herbs always help so much, and when he does the thing with the drum! WOW!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
