I see Dr Mendez , Dr Schaeffer and RPA-C Amy Gemelli . I’ve see Dr Schaeffer for 20yrs and Dr Mendez & Amy Gemelli for 5 years .They are professional and always willing to go the extra mile to help .Everyone in the practice are polite and a pleasure to see. They are so good I got my Girlfriend and a few others to switch to their practice ,my girlfriend will see no one except Dr Mendez . She is a Paramedic and she says he has a great personality and really knows and cares about his patients. I’ve seen Dr Schaeffer for 20 years & Dr Mendez & Amy Gemellie for 5 years. CNY Spine & Pain Medicine are professional. Knowledgeable and very personable .On a few occasions They have called me on their personal time to see how I was doing after a procedure. I’ve been to several other doctors in Syracuse and in NC. I like the practice so much I contemplated the drive back while in NC for appointments .I moved back to NY and very glad as good Doctors & practices are hard to come by these days ....

Dr. Mendez is great at taking the time to listen and review your history w/o jumping to put you in a grouped category. He doesn't treat you as a number. After 8 yrs of non stop pain, he listened enough to know what I needed and I was out of pain with a procedure that worked for me for months. Very patient and friendly. Booking and staffing is another issue that is less then to be desired.

I found Dr. Mendez to be distant with no sense of humor. I found it impossible to find out whether I could get a refill on my pain medication, which I do not know if that is the tech who did not call me back or if I am not getting any type of pain medication for my back.. So 4 days later, Friday afternoon and the office is closed and I hurt.

I am returning to Dr Mendez to have my third lower back ablation for chronic pain and I certainly wouldn't be doing so unless I had complete confidence in his care.

The doctor does not return calls. His assistant returns the calls and they are not in a timely manner.
