List of Andrew I Caster's Reviews
very good staff and doctor, one of the best in LA, felt really comfortable and surgery was quick and painless.
Everyone at Dr. Caster's office is super nice , super welcoming and so very attentive. My discussion to have surgery to correct my vision was the best choice I have ever made. Second to that was choosing Dr. Caster to preform my surgery. THANK YOU!!!
Had eye vision correction surgery over 10 years ago -- he was more pricewise and a longer drive and I had to stay in a nearby hotel, but for my eyes I wanted to go where I felt the procedure would be done using best practices and most up-to-date technology. I used to need glasses for driving and sports and distance and since the vision correction 10 = years ago I haven't needed glasses for far vision. Thanks Dr. Caster 8)
I trust Dr. Caster. His evaluation of my wife's eyes revealed she could have PRK but not Lasik because she had the beginning onset of cataracts. And, if she were to have Lasik it would preclude any future cataract surgery. His medical ethics and skill preserved my wife's vision and health considering his disclosure about her cataracts. A vital fact omitted by a different Dr. My wife was upset for my refusing to allow a low cost shop to perform Lasik on her, until I found Dr. Caster!
Got LASIKS done, Dr. Caster was amazing! very pleasant experience. very caring staff, highly recommend him. Laura was so caring and helpful.
What a great experience. Wonderful doctor and wonderful results.
Researched LASIK for years and finally chose Dr. Caster to do it. I have been wearing glasses/contacts my whole life and am amazed with the results. Had the procedure done three weeks ago and am very happy with the results thus far. Truly life changing, wish I would have done it sooner! Also, the staff are very friendly and helpful, great experience.
I can See!!! Best money ever spent!!!! Totally recommend Dr. CASTER and his wonderful staff!!!!!!!
Got my LASIK a year ago and it was the best decision of my life!!! Expensive but worth it!!
This review is mainly for Dr. Caster, but I also want to add that I think LASIK should be illegal. Every person I know who has had the surgery, and who has started out saying it's great, within a few months they all start complaining of the same problems. Problems that I myself have experienced after LASIK. So be careful, no matter what doctor you go to. As far as Dr. Caster, I did not like him from the beginning. He was rather odd and seemed irritated every time I met with him. I found out later that he himself had LASIK, which explains some of his odd behavior. Anyways, I waited a few months before I did it since I didn't really like Caster. He started out saying I could only get PRK because my corneas were too thin. But after getting PRK done on the left eye, the vision was bizarro in that eye, so I waited to get the other eye done. Dr. Caster found out I was unhappy with the PRK, so he suggested I try LASIK on the right eye. But he had initially said I couldn't do LASIK cause of my thin corneas. Now he was saying he could do LASIK, if he used a special instrument. I wish I would have known that from the start, because I got LASIK done on my right eye, and I see much better out of the LASIK eye. Caster had told me my vision after LASIK would be the same as my vision after PRK, but he was wrong. Both procedures do different things to the eye, so there's no way the outcomes are going to be the same. But my vision in both eyes is NOT NEARLY AS GOOD as it was with glasses, before I had these surgeries. This surgery is a rip-off. It's just a big money maker like all these dangerous procedures such as botox injections and the like. Getting your eye cut into is as bad as it sounds, and destroys various facets of human eyesight. Anyways, back to Dr. Caster. When I went to get the second eye done, Caster made me wait forever, like over an hour past my appointment time. I think it was because he wanted me to take the Xanax prior to the surgery, which I had said I didn't need. I overheard his rude nurse saying that I was "stupid" for not taking the Xanax. She's the same girl who accidentally prepared my left eye for surgery, when it was my right eye they were going to do. (Fortunately another nurse pointed this out to her, before they lasered the wrong eye.). What's interesting is that this girl had also had LASIK. All the people at his office who had LASIK themselves are half blind and don't know what the heck they're doing. I should also point out that when I wrote a negative review of Caster a few years ago, on Yelp, he kept sending me messages asking me who I was and saying he and his office were looking for me in his files (which was especially odd being he didn't know my name). When I didn't respond, he sent me this angry email, which was publicly visible for a while, saying that I was lying in my review. The guy has anger control issues. I've also heard he's been sued once or twice. My eyes will never be the same. Value and enjoy the body you have. Don't get suckered into unnecessary surgeries like this one.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
