Gerald B Whitman's Online Review Report Card

Went to an initial apt to meet Dr. Whitman and see his office. Our current pediatrician is moving out of town. The front office staff was flippant and rude. 30 minutes after our apt time we still had not been seen and were still sitting in the waiting room. The front office woman said 'you can wait 20 more minutes or you can leave'No I'm sorry, no kindness nothing... very cold and basically telling me that if I didn't want to continue waiting I could screw off. That first impression was enough to let me know that I would never want to go to that office or have that doctor be my kids pediatrician. In addition I read all the other one star comments here about him being rude and short and the office being disorganized... it was enough for me to know that this would not be the office or doctor for us

Theres a lot to say about this place and its all good.  they are very very concerned about the kids and they want to meet the parents expectations in terms of time to ask questions, germ-a-phobia, and waiting time.  we tend to make our appointments in the morning because, like any doctor, afternoon appointments tend to run late.  compared to most doctors he is very on time, but that does also mean that if you run late, you will have less time with him.  the prices/rates are very flexible and they just accept insurance.  ive never been asked for a co-pay even.  essentially, this doctor seems to love what he does (i would too).  he is also very professional and has referred us out for things that a specialist may require.  My kids have been seeing dr w for 2 years running and we are very happy.

I had no idea about being a mother and Dr Whitman was there for all questions and frantic nerves . Now my son Matthew is married and a father of a son named Phillip Trevor Smith I know Matthew has really good memories of going to Dr Whitman.

I was very surprised to see there were "One Star" reviews on this wonderful, patient and loving Dr. We have been taking our daughter to Dr. Whitman since her birth for 3 years and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his wonderful staff. He is always very busy but still he takes his time to explain and educate the worried parents. He is also very gentle with our daughter. As a first time parent to a 3 year old he's held my hands thick through thin. I and my husband are very happy with Dr. Whitman and our daughter is luck to have him as her Dr.

Was a doctor on call when my son was ill recently. Short, unconcerned and not very helpful. Definitely seemed to not care about my son's condition at all and didn't wait to hear my full concern.  He certainly didn't ask enough questions to ascertain an accurate picture of the situation.

I am shocked by the positive reviews.  Dr. Whitman is patronizing, rude, nasty, dismissive and impatient.  I have never in my life had a more horrifying experience with a medical practitioner.  Aside from how horrible he was with me, I found him physically rough and cold toward my son.  You couldn't pay me enough money to go back there.  The one star goes to the staff, who I thought were very nice.

My siblings and I were patients of Dr. Whitman's as children/adolescents, and my son is currently a patient (since birth, and he's almost 3). So, I've had years and years of interacting with the doctors and office staff from both sides (patient and parent). I trust Dr. Whitman implicitly; he is gentle and funny, and does a great job of engaging my son while getting the medical information he needs. He also takes the time to talk to me whenever I have questions, including picking up the phone at the office when I call (almost unheard of according to other parent friends). I love the office staff; they are flexible and compassionate, and some of them have been there since I was a patient, which says something. Cannot recommend highly enough.
