List of Gregg Nishi's Reviews
I was diagnosed with a groin hernia (I think they call it inguinal) and was having some discomfort. I saw my primary care doctor and he said it was pretty common and that surgery for it was a pretty routing thing. I guess I was lucky because I see some of the other reviews and other people have some pretty complicated problems. Anyway, I was referred to a surgeon who seemed like a nice competent doctor. The problem was that after doing a lot of research, I wanted to have it done with the latest or best technique which looks to be a robotic repair. I did some research and found that there weren't that many surgeons who do this. I saw two other surgeons, one of which was Dr. Nishi. He really took a lot of time explaining everything to me which made me very comfortable. I ended up having surgery with him and it went really well. I don't know if it's pretty normal to not have much pain but I felt pretty good within 2 days and by a week was back to work. I had a great experience with Dr. Nishi and highly recommend him. I just hope I never need an operation again! Lol.
I was having pain in my belly button after my pregnancy and didn't know what was going on. Went to see my OB Gyn and he said it might be a hernia and suggested I go see Dr. Nishi. I was pretty scared, didn't know what a hernia was, and terrified of having surgery. I put it off for a few weeks but finally went to see Dr. Nishi because the pain was so bad. I was relieved when he explained to me what the problem was and that fixing it wouldn't be that difficult. He was able to squeeze me in the following week for surgery and I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised that it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. A little pain from surgery but nothing like I would have expected. He was so thorough in his explanations and really calmed me down. He probably thought I was a little crazy after our first visit. I'm all healed up now and you can't even tell that I've had surgery. Hope I never need surgery again but if I do, I would definitely go back to Dr. Nishi!
Dr. Nishi is the Best!I had laparoscopic robotic hernia surgery last week and I feel great. What I love about Dr. Nishi is he listens to you and addresses all your concerns and explains the surgery so you understand it.Dr. Nishi's staff is great at communicating with you before and after and made me feel quite comfortable.I am so Glad I found Dr. Nishi. He is a Miracle worker.
I was very happy with my surgery that I had with Dr. Nishi. I never had surgery before and was very nervous. It was far for me to drive from San Gabriel to Beverly Hills but it was worth it. He explain everything to me and answer all my questions. Sometimes I don't understand everything because my English not very good but he take lots of time to explain. Very nice man and doctor.
OMG...simply the best surgeon you can possibly find
So after having several children, I ended up with what I though was an "outie" bellybutton, but then my OB/GYN told me it was a hernia. Never knew what a hernia was. I was referred to a surgeon who I saw and I didn't like her at all. Saw two other surgeons and just didn't feel comfortable with them. I was thinking of just not getting it fixed since it didn't really hurt but then a friend of mine told me to see Dr. Nishi who fixed her hernia. I thought "what the heck" and went to see him. Boy was I pleasantly surprised. The office was very nice, the staff were very friendly, and most importantly, Dr. Nishi was wonderful. I was impressed with how much time he spent with me to explain the hernia and all of the surgical options to fix it. This was probably the biggest difference from what I experienced with the other surgeons. I had surgery and then waited a few weeks to see how things went before writing a review. It's the only operation I have ever had so I have nothing else to compare it to but I will say it was much easier and less painful than I expected. My belly button looks normal again (I know, that sounds weird, who looks at their belly button right?). I don't know how good he is at other operations, but ladies (and men I guess?) if you have a belly button hernia and need to get it fixed, this is the doctor to go to.
Dr. Nishi is the best! He spends a lot of time with you, and you do not feel rushed at all. The staff, especially Dorothy, are very helpful with insurance and instructions.
Dr. Kai Nishi has great bedside manners, he answered all of my questions as he's very personable and easy to talk to, and he has a pleasant and helpful office staff. He's also super smart! I can't say enough. I highly recommend Dr. Nishi.
Dr. Kai Nishi is one of the best doctors I have been to in all of Los Angeles. He has great bedside manners, he answered all of my questions as he's very personable and easy to talk to, and he has a pleasant and helpful office staff. I can't say enough. I highly recommend Dr. Nishi.
Dr. Nishi is a wonderful and highly skilled surgeon. He was extremely patient in diagnosing and explaining my inguinal hernia. Then he performed robotic arthroscopic surgery to repair the hernia about two years ago. There were no complications immediately following the surgery or thereafter. His support staff was very responsive about all other matters.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
