Words fall short when trying to express my praise for Dr. Melamed. I came to him after having several prior cervical spine surgeries that produced less than desirable results. Due to these past surgeries my case was rather complex, yet from our very first consultation it became apparent that Dr. Melamed had the expertise to not only understand my case, but that his approach was different and obviously at the cutting edge of current surgical techniques. Dr. Melamed clearly explained the intricacies of his proposed surgery and included me in all necessary medical decisions. I realized I was in the very best medical hands and for these reasons had the faith to allow him to operate on me. It is obviously important to have the best possible doctor whenever going into a planned surgery, but it is crucial to have a superior doctor in the event that unforeseen events do occur. Dr. Melamed did an excellent job in surgery and the operation itself went smoothly, however, through no fault of his, I developed an unknowable post surgical complication unrelated to the actual orthopedic surgery. I had blood clots in my legs that traveled to my lungs. This was a life-threatening event and even though Dr. Melamed was not at the hospital when it occurred, he raced over and was there within a very short time. Dr. Melamed immediately took charge of the medical team that was assembled to help me, and without the slightest exaggeration, he saved my life! I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel toward this incredible doctor. When I needed his medical expertise he was there, but this man went far and above all expectations when he visited me every day during my long hospital stay. His bedside manner is warm, assuring, and he had a great sense of humor that cheered me up during a most difficult time. The medical office itself is pristine and loaded with modern high tech equipment. No doctor is able to provide the superior level of medicine that Dr. Melamed does without a terrific support staff. It must be mentioned that the doctor's Physician's Assistant, Michael Olschansky, as well as his entire office staff, is phenomenal. The helpful and warm manner in which these friendly and capable people treated me made a scary surgery so much easier. I truly appreciate that they, as well as the doctor himself, put themselves out to go above and beyond for patient care. It has been three months since my surgery and I am most optimistic. I'm healing slowly, as this was a long-standing problem that developed and progressed over several years, however even at this point of my recovery I can feel steady healing and clearly observable progress. I have already been able to cut back on the pain medications I was on for quite some time and now see a future without them. I simply can't recommend Dr. Melamed enough and strongly suggest anyone even remotely contemplating spinal surgery make an appointment to visit him. He saved my life and I will forever be grateful to have been in his care.

Dr. Melamed saved my Husband's life and his expert, miracle surgeries enabled him to walk again! We were blessed to find him after a Torrance doctor performed a botched surgery & 3 unnecessary epidurals which made his condition worse leaving him unable to sit, stand, or walk, and a life-threatening staph infection which would have killed him!!! Best doctor ever He worked with me for almost 18 months to try to avoid surgery but in the end it was the best option for me after failing all conservative treatment. Dr Melamed went beyond and ordered ct scan to show me the best surgery procedure for my body. He is genuinely a good person and doctor,you can tell by his energy and compassion. He took his time and explained why this surgery would have the best longterm outcome. Would not choose another doctor over him.

Best Spine Surgeon in the U.S. Dr Melamed took his time to explain the complete procedure and then he ordered a more recent MRI. He also ordered a CT scan to verify his findings which they did. He is a very compassionate and humble physician. I highly recommend Dr Melamed. I am glad I found him.

Dr. Melamed is the BEST! Dr. Melamed is a very kind person. He takes his time explaining everything you need to know about your situation. He also will make sure we did everything we could as far as epidural and facets blocks before he suggested surgery. He was there for me 100% before during and after surgery.

An excellent compasionate surgeon Dr. Melamed guided me through steps to take to see if surgery could be avoided. When I needed surgery his office assisted in arranging every step. Post surgery recovery consisted of being aggressive with recovery by limiting pain and inflammation without the use of any narcotics. My recovery went very well and I returned back to regular activites quickly

THE BEST AND MOST COMPASSIONATE SURGEON! Dr. Melamed is definitely one of a kind. He clearly has golden hands. He helped when many other surgeons refused to because my case was extremely challenging. DR MELAMED IS SIMPLY THE BEST ! I have had two major surgeries in the past, and I have never felt this good. I was in pain for five years, and Dr. Melamed took the time to look into it. He is the most compassionate surgeon ever. I just cannot thank him enough. I would not go to any other surgeon. My surgery was literally a miracle. I feel so much better. The hospital and the care were also amazing. I am still at the hospital experiencing very little pain, and I finally have hope for my future. A MILLION THANKS TO DR MELAMED AND TO HIS TEAM !

Outstanding Physician I have met with Dr. Melamed twice and each time not only was he more knowledgeable than any other physician I had met with prior but he was caring, attentive and communicated clearly what needed to be done. He acknowledged my pain and explained the reasons behind it. Other physicians had simply brushed it off and sent me away. Dr. Melamed is truly one of a kind and the only surgeon I will trust moving forward with surgery.

He’s an incredible surgeon, from his curiosity, investigative mind and ability to connect, you know where you stand immediately and what the next steps are and it’s nice to know for Dr. M it’s not Always surgery! It’s rare to find a doctor that combines a personal touch, expertise, a willingness to listen and dialog with the patient. His staff are top notch too! The Melamed team are always helpful and kind, they made sure I had everything I needed from start to finish. This I know because, I have had two surgeries with Dr. M, about 7 years apart, for two completely separate issues. Also, I have called upon him and his staff throughout the years when I thought I might be having an issue. It’s nice to know they have my back, no pun intended. I Highly recommend Dr. Melamed, he’s hands down the only orthopedic surgeon I trust!
