J. Timothy Katzen's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Katzen's bedside manners are warming and welcoming. His priority is your comfortability. I was nervous to see him, but once I met him in person, all my worries disappeared. I had a procedure on my knee. I am 5 weeks post-op and am back to conducting my daily activities. My healing process was painless; most importantly, he and his team are ALWAYS available. I could get ahold of him with a simple text or phone call after regular business hours. I am happy with my results, and I highly recommend Dr. Katzen.

Dr. Katzen performed a removal from my arm. This was done under local anesthesia, and I felt no pain besides the numbing medication (shot). He was very kind and talked me through the whole process, leaving me at ease. I was nervous going into it, and I think he could tell. He helped ease my nerves! He's a great doctor and treats everyone with so much kindness.

To anyone suffering from silicone, find a different doctor. As someone who has a business I'm not for negative reviews. I really don't like leaving any negative experiences public, but this office doesn't offer any sort of customer service. When it comes to health it should be taken seriously. They completely wasted my time, lied, ignored calls and emails, gave me the run around, and absolutely beyond rude to someone who is in desperate need. I met katzen last year when I realized I was injected with silicone overseas and my face began to deform. I hid my face for a year so far. He asked me to come back in a few months so I did. Got the MRI he asked for after needing to ask them several times to please tell me where to go for my insurance to help cover the $1000 MRI. Once I got it done I had to consistently call and ask if they received it yet. Once they did Katzen called and went over the extensive findings. The most dangerous being the silicone has migrated to my eye which can cause blindness. He was concerned and had me scheduled to come in the next week little did I know he only had 5 minutes to talk to me. This is not a surgery that only takes 5 minutes to talk about. I felt discouraged and again needed to schedule a phone consult since my 5 minutes were up. Over the phone he was concerned to get the surgery sooner than later and get it within '6 months'. He needed to do the open technique which is a huge surgery. He also knew I was in a lawsuit with the 'doctor' that injected this into my face. He happily agreed to write up my procedure transcripts for my lawyer. So when I try to book the surgery they tell me he's not taking anyone until 2023. I was shocked and felt lost after what he told me was I needed to do this soon and no later than '6 months' and to book with the office soon. I'm so desperate to get this silicone out I offered to pay all cash to see if they can find a sooner date as nobody indicated I'd have to wait 8+ months. They said nope. I followed up with the office again since they never reach out to the client first, and asked what the status was for my lawyers letter in a nice way, which I'd always get 'we'll get back to you' as a response. Then someone named 'Jane Costey' writes the most rude and shocking email to me saying he's declining to help with the lawyer procedure letter, stop calling, and they're booked till 2023. Nice. I was just following up on what HE told me. So for a very expensive surgery with a life threatening injection that may make me blind, that's apparently not dangerous enough to help me find a sooner date. Imagine already feeling sick and horrible with silicone in your body and they treat you like nothing. They mislead, lie, and don't care at all. You'd think with all the money they charge they'd have a smile on their face and at least give a call back. Absolute nightmare. So happy I didn't spend my money on these people. There are many other doctors that will take you seriously and want to help, but not here. He will continue to lose clients over his offices behavior and his misleading information. So much for being 'one of the best for silicone removal'. People that suffer from this know how emotional this is for us and expect the doctor to care especially when it's not even covered by insurance, only straight cash. You can see the lovely email 'Jane' wrote back to my simple question. Not once did katzen call me to say any of this himself.

SILICONE INJECTION REMOVALMy husband and I, reached out to Dr. Katzen for a second opinion after having silicone injection removal surgery with a different doctor in Los Angeles. Which ended up being the worse decision we ever made. I ended up with a horribly large dent on my right side of my buttock along with the surgery sites completely opened up leaving me with three very  large painful wounds that were never going to close up without another surgery. I was out of pocket $17,000 later for a complete failed botched job! I'm telling you this so that you really do your research before you go under the knife and lose your money and nothing gets repaired. Along with needing a second surgery like myself!Choosing Dr. Katzen, was the best decision I, have ever made! I, had my surgery with him about three weeks ago and still on the mend but I'm extremely happy with him and his staff. First of all, he is so easy to talk too and he genuinely cares about his patients. And his after care is 5 stars! He really knows exactly what he's doing in this area of silicone injection removal. He reconstructed my butt along with removing all that poison in one surgery. I, honestly could not be happier with the end results! My butt is no longer black & blue and my skin looks great. And I can't tell you enough how much I love the way my butt turned out as well. And most importantly, physically and mentally I really feel so much better now. If your looking for a surgeon that delivers amazing  results look no further and call Dr.Katzen, I highly recommend him!

His staff was amazing from the start, helped me find a place in Las Vegas to get all my pre op bloodwork and other tests done as well as gave me info on hotels near by as I am from Las Vegas and surgery was in Beverly Hills. My pre op appointment went amazing, Dr. Katzen and his staff made sure I was informed on everything that would be happening the following day for my surgery. I left feeling excited and not nervous at all. Day of surgery came, the nurse at the surgical center asked if I was nervous at all and I told her no, I’ve had many surgeries in my life and this is the 1st one I was not one bit scared of nervous for. Dr. Katzen has amazing bedside manners and did an awesome job with my ETT. I was involved in a car accident 12 days post op so I was emailing and calling his staff quite a bit and never once did they make me feel like I was wasting their time. I recommend Dr. Katzen to everyone I know looking for a surgeon. You can tell that Dr. Katzen and his staff really do care about their patience.

If you look at the pictures on his site you get idea of his work. If you schedule a consult, you get a clear idea of what to expect. But something you can't know know, unless you use him, is his compassion and dedication and that he goes above and beyond he goes to ensure you have the best care, at all stages of the process. He's wonderful.

Dr. Katzen is incredibly talented. He explains all procedures to his patients to help them make informed decisions, has very patient and kind bedside manner answering any and all questions, thoroughly knows his patient’s health and goals after surgery and is amazingly precise with his surgeries. I highly recommend his work!
