I liked Dr Chipps & got good results, but had 2 billing-related issues: 1. When I made my appointment, I was made aware of the $150 consult fee. I asked if it would be applied towards the cost of the service and the rep said yes. I was charged for the consultation fee in addition to the cost of treatment. This was resolved after I called the office manager, Lana, who said it's not standard practice. She spoke with the employee who scheduled my appointment (a month prior…and supposedly the employee remembered my specific call…) and the employee said she explained that the doctor can choose whether or not to charge the consult fee…that absolutely did not happen. I got a one word reply to my question - yes. It took a lot of back and forth, but I was finally told I would be refunded for the consult fee, but Lana made me feel terrible in the process, as she was essentially implying that I was lying. 2. The practice charges for botox by number of sites, not volume. I was not made aware of this ahead of or during my appointment. Since this is not industry standard, I believe it should have been disclosed. Especially when I resisted getting treatment to a certain area and Dr Chipps said she really wanted to do just a tiny bit and talked me into it. Had I known it would increase my price by $200 I would not have agreed. Additionally, relative to a practice (also a well-known plastic surgeon's office) that charges by volume, my cost more than tripled - since I get only a small amount, charging by site rather than volume is really impactful to my cost. I get that I should have asked about pricing, but I had never heard of a price by site model so didn't even know to ask. A tiny bit of botox with Dr Chipps cost $800…I feel others should know and factor it in to their decision on whether or not this practice is the right one for them. If you're only getting a small amount I wouldn't recommend this practice - you can get results that are every bit as good and for much much less. If you are more interested in freezing your face fully, this may be the place for you - they give free touch ups. Bottom line - this practice is not forthright with their pricing. Make sure you ask or…just choose a different practice.
Worst experience I've ever had with a doctor. She made me feel bad for not being able to afford the products or procedures sold/performed in the Beverly Hills office. She didn't answer any of my questions other than to tell me about procedures/products in their BH office. Now I need to go to another derm to get my questions answered. I used to go to an associate in the BH office who was wonderful, but she left the firm. No one should go to a doctor and feel worse about themselves when they leave
good
My regular dermatologist, Dr. McKitty, discovered a suspicious looking basal cell on my shin that to me was unremarkable and ignored for several years, unlike those on my hands, face and arms. She was concerned immediately and referred me at that time to Dr. Chipps. Dr. Chipps saw me the next day. The cancer was deep, possibly a bone issue. Dr. Chipps began removing shin skin layers and got through the third with a warning the next level needed to be cancer free or it would be a bone and much more serious issue. Her staff did the required testing on-site and delivered the information at each level after reasonable 15 to 45 minute intervals. Dr. Cipps delivered the last news which fortunately was she had excised all of the cancer. However that left her with the problem of dealing with a 50 cent sized hole that looked to me like the Grand Canyon on my shin. She decided that trying to stich the site was impractical given that there was not enough skin to hold the stiches together. I live outside the country and was leaving that very week. I ended up leaving with a Stem Cell membrane inserted. The stem Cells were from live births, conformation of which I required. Hopefully the healing not be many months but only several. Dr. Chipps was professional, friendly, patient, and has a great staff to boot. Strongly recommend her, and would not hesitate to send my children and other family to her.
Saw her for my scin cancer and overall she was simply stellar. Highly Recomend!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
