Super helpful and convenient location

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Melissa Gutierrez for about five years, but my most recent visit has been extremely frustrating and disappointing due to billing practices and poor communication. I went in for my annual well-woman exam, which has always been fully covered by my insurance. During the visit, Dr. Gutierrez asked how I was doing, and I mentioned that I sometimes experience itchiness after my period, which I assumed was related to tampon use. I did not go in for a problem visit or request any testing. However, a culture was taken without any disclosure that it would result in additional charges. About a month later, I received a bill. After speaking with the billing department, I was told the charge was for the culture and I paid it. Months later, I received another bill for the same visit and was then told the original charge was because the visit was considered “problem-related” simply because I answered the doctor’s question. This directly contradicted what I had previously been told. When I questioned this, the billing representative was dismissive and even accused me of lying. I attempted to speak directly with the doctor but was put on hold and never received a callback—only additional payment reminders. On top of this, the office introduced a new administrative fee in 2025 that was not disclosed when scheduling or in appointment reminders, only at check-in, leaving no real choice but to pay. What should have been a free annual exam is now costing me $110. After reading similar experiences in other reviews, I will not be returning to this practice.

Dr. Melissa Gutierrez has been my OBGYN for a few years now. She is a smart, kind and compassionate doctor. She listens to questions and answers honestly, with care. She has a great sense of humor. I am going through a few issues, at this point, and she is very reassuring in what my options are, and makes sure you know that she will work with you and be a supportive care giver. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Gutierrez provided great listening skills, clear explanations, and a compassionate approach, while also demonstrating professionalism. Also the office staff was friendly and always positive and always to help.

Dr. Gutierrez is amazing! I've been seeing her for a good few years and she always makes the experience so comfortable. She's thorough, takes her time, and explains things in a way that feels easy to understand. On top of that, her nursing staff are super friendly and welcoming--I always feel taken care of from the moment I walk in. I honestly couldn't ask for a better OB team!
