Great office experience and Dr. Hannon was very engaged. Took. Rays in the office and he sat down and explained the results. He then laid out a treatment plan and I felt very confident about his diagnosis!

Saving everyone who is young or with hip dysplasia some time here!! I was really relieved to find a hip specialist in LA because it's such a niche practice so I went to Dr. Hannon for a second opinion but left really disappointed and upset/pessimistic again. The front desk gal was very lovely and welcoming however the X-ray tech was really cold. When it came time to meet Dr. Hannon, I told him what I had been diagnosed with and my life-long pain and all he says is "What do you want to do here?". I was really confused because I came for a second opinion so I was hoping he could offer insight rather than forcing me to prompt a conversation about my options. He ultimately told me he doesn't do hip replacements for anyone young (the youngest he's done was in their late 30s) and to avoid surgery, even though my condition is structural and requires surgery otherwise it will progress into arthritis and more severe treatment. He said he didn't want to do an MRI of my hips because he already can assume what they look like (which is wild, I've never had a doctor not want evidence, especially when I'll need MRI anyways..) and instead will order steroids to treat the pain (temporarily) and an MRI of my spine (even though I have no spine issues). He also said that because I'm "fit" (aka skinny... I am no way in good shape because I am severely weak and have a degenerative disease) I can avoid surgery, even though I have a bone deformity... I am now on my third opinion and will be seeking another provider but wanted to share because I know there is such limited info out here for young folks with hip disorders needing preservation :(

Someone who always listens, answers your question, takes into consideration your well being and ability....well that would be the most outstanding Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Michael Hannon. Yes, after Dr. Hannon has provide me with his excellent Surgeon skills and knowledge for my previous two knees & left hip replacements, I'm awaiting for my right hip replacement in upcoming days. I wouldn't have anyone else perform such percise, technical and life-changing surgery on me. I am 70yrs old and a competitor in equestrian events so yes, Dr. Michael Hannon
