The doctor does not seem like a bad guy, but I had a really bad experience here, with the nurses in particular. I came here to take a breath test for SIBO and was given an inaccurate diagnosis. I had to figure this out myself by going over the protocol and numbers that were jotted on the result sheet and noticing she had done the math wrong. She had diagnosed me with the wrong type of SIBO. This error would've suggested I needed a completely different treatment which could've been harmful and totally unhelpful for me if I had not taken it apon myself to double check everything. I had to go back in to the office for another appointment and pay extra to see dr brookerim directly, just so he could fix their error and correct my diagnosis. Despite the incompetence from his staff, I did not even hear an apology, I was just quietly handed back my corrected results. I also decided to test for H. pylori to rule it out while I was there this time and was charged exponentially more than this test costs anywhere else. The whole thing left a poor taste in my mouth about this business and has kept me from going back. I since switched back to a naturopathic doctor who has been very helpful.Moral of the story: always double check and advocate for yourself, even when you might think you are going to a medical professional that you can completely trust!

Dr. B and his team came to my office in Newport Beach and provided COVID testing for everyone. Everything was on point and the service was amazing! Thank you to Dr. B and his team! Appreciate you guys.

No longer accepts any insurance. Requires a $500 payment for new patients for first visit. Former patients who haven't been there for 3 years are treated as new and have to pay up. If you have an out of network deductible they collect upfront. Congratulations to Dr. Berookim and all his 5 stars that he can enter this echelon of medical practice for the wealthy. Upper-middle class (defined as we have great insurance) will think twice. No insurance billing hassle and higher fees for him. He deserves the success. But that's why I can't say 5 star anymore because this is not "as good as it gets" for me.

Dr. Berookim is the man!!! Let me tell you after months of dealing with horrible stomach issues Dr. B was able to get to the bottom of it. This man definitely takes his craft serious and is a master at his craft, don't even waste your time going to anyone else but Berookim. So Thankful for the internet these days & after hours of searching for a good GI specialist I was beyond grateful to find him and get tested and treated properly. I'm finally able to feel normal and healthy again. Thanks again for everything doc. Keep up the good work

I feel so lucky and blessed to have been treated by Dr. Berookim because from the very first appointment he figured out what was wrong with me. After almost 17 years of suffering from unexpected flare ups (bloating, pain in my abdomen, muscle spasms, and the list goes on) that would leave me bedridden for days, I was finally able to get answers. I've literally been to so many GI specialists, primary care physicians, gynecologists, and have even taken a holistic approach but no one was able to give me answers. And I know I can put a name to my symptoms and no longer feel crazy. I am proud to say that I have been symptom-free since April 2021. Thank you Dr B!

I am so glad and RELIEVED to have found Dr. B. My previous GI was blowing me off and not taking my complaints seriously - so I knew it was time to at least get a second opinion. In my first meeting with Dr B., he spent nearly an hour with me, going over my history, previous test results, my questions, etc. - and even called the surgery center from the exam room to see how soon I could get in. After this last procedure, I am finally feeling like I am on a better path, and most of all, being taken seriously. Suffice to say that I will being seeing Dr. B from here on out.

Dr. Berookim is absolutely the best GI doctor in Los Angeles! He is a brilliant physician, kind, compassionate, and patient. When I first visited Dr. Berookim I was in extreme GI distress. He was able to schedule an endoscopy and provide me with a treatment plan within a few days of my fist visit. I am so grateful to have Dr Berookim as part of my care team and would recommend him to anyone looking for a GI doctor! -Suzanne Dickman
