I am so glad and RELIEVED to have found Dr. B. My previous GI was blowing me off and not taking my complaints seriously - so I knew it was time to at least get a second opinion. In my first meeting with Dr B., he spent nearly an hour with me, going over my history, previous test results, my questions, etc. - and even called the surgery center from the exam room to see how soon I could get in. After this last procedure, I am finally feeling like I am on a better path, and most of all, being taken seriously. Suffice to say that I will being seeing Dr. B from here on out.

Dr. Berookim is absolutely the best GI doctor in Los Angeles! He is a brilliant physician, kind, compassionate, and patient. When I first visited Dr. Berookim I was in extreme GI distress. He was able to schedule an endoscopy and provide me with a treatment plan within a few days of my fist visit. I am so grateful to have Dr Berookim as part of my care team and would recommend him to anyone looking for a GI doctor! -Suzanne Dickman

Peyton Berookim is an excellent physician, and his practice is professionalism personified. Every step of my medical visit was pleasant from making the appointment to walking out with a follow up. I required a very minor procedure, and Dr. Berookim was with me in explaining the procedure and how he would follow up. Follow up was also very quick and over the phone once biopsies were obtained. He is also a great personality, and his staff is welcoming and kind, and his facilities are very modern. Overall, the experience with Dr. Berookim was very pleasant, and anyone would be happy to have him as their gastroenterologist.

I have never written a review before but Dr. Berookim is such an amazing Dr. I felt I had to express my opinion. I have seen other gastrologists in the past but none compare to Dr. Berookim. He is so knowledgeable and does whatever is necessary to solve the problem. He is so kind and compassionate and he truly listens and takes whatever time is needed. I drive 190 miles round trip to see Dr. Berookim and it is worth every mile and more. If you need the best he is the one.

I came to Dr. Berookim in dire straits, unable to swallow without excruciating pain. He quickly diagnosed the issue and even moved things around so I could have an immediate endoscopy. He was extremely knowledgable, helpful, thorough and reassuring during a scary time and I am profoundly grateful to him!

I searched long and hard for a gastro doc. DR.B hit all the marks I was searching for. He listens patiently, clearly answers every question and never rushes you. I recently had a flair up of a condition on a Saturday afternoon. I left a message regarding, did I mention on a Saturday?, my concerns. He called me back within 20 minutes with instructions on what to do in order to avoid a more serious outcome. You will not regret choosing Dr. B...plus he is a cool guy!

It is no exaggeration to say this doctor changed my life. I had constant GI problems (will spare the details) and gradually deteriorating health until, as of about 3 years ago, I was barely functional. It took everything I had just to work 6-8 hours a day, whereas I could pull 10-14 hours/day on a regular basis earlier in my career. Many other aspects of my life - relationships, hobbies etc. - took a similar beating. I saw at least 3 GI docs in the couple years leading up to Berookim, did tons of tests, got nowhere. I became despondent and very cynical about our health care system.Well, we know how this ends. Last month was the best month of the last 3-4 years of my life because this doctor took the time to investigate and figure out what the heck is going on. I was particularly struck by his stern rejection of facile explanations that, while plausible, didn’t quite fit the facts. Every other doctor I’ve seen latched onto the first available thought (GERD, hiatal hernia, whatever), billed me and sent me on my way. Any doc can offer you answers, but Berookim is only interested in correct answers. If you’re suffering with chronic GI problems with no help from the standard mills and revolving door model of treatment, this is your guy.Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Berookim. I’m your patient for life. I wish I had found you sooner. Woulda saved me a lot of time.

The only reason I'm not still a patient is because of insurance. Otherwise I'd be a patient for life! His staff and he are wonderful!

I went to see Dr. Berookim a couple of months ago, after I developed a very challenging GI issue. I found him in Los Angeles magazine, where he was listed as one of the top 10 GI Doctors in LA. I then went on-line to read his reviews and was very impressed. Dr. Berookim definitely lived up to his impeccable reviews. He is an excellent diagnostician, and is also very personable and compassionate. He was extremely patient with my numerous questions, and was also very reassuring at a time when I was feeling vulnerable and anxious due to my GI issues. He was well versed in natural complementary treatments for my condition, which was an added bonus. His staff, Satmattie and Marielle, are very friendly and helpful. I am so grateful I found Dr. Berookim!
