Shirin Towfigh's Online Review Report Card

I have a complex abdominal hernia. Dr. Towfigh gave me a physical examination and went over my MRI with me. She showed me all the hernia sites and explained how the reconstructive surgery should go. Unfortunately I don't have the insurance that she takes for the surgery. DR. Towfigh recommended a surgeon that does take my insurance who also is a friend of hers, excellent, now that's in process. I came away with my head wrapped around my condition completely and proceeding with confidence. I can't put a price on that. Thankyou Dr. Towfight. Dave

I had my inguinal surgery operation with Dr Towfigh in February 2022. It went well, there was very little pain, everything went smoothly. I feel good about the surgery, I had the Shouldice technique used in the surgery. It feels good, there are very occasional twinges of pain, but so far everything seems to be going well. I feel that Dr Towfigh did everything to try to make the experience a positive one, with little pain or confusion about the situation. I felt very much at ease during all aspects of the surgical process. It was a long trip since I do not live near California, but I feel it was worth the extra effort and so far, everything has gone well. In addition, I feel that if there ever were to be complications of any sort, I could go back to her and discuss the situation.

I flew across the country for Dr. Towfigh's care, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. I had a hernia repair which left me with chronic pain among other complications. After spending hundreds of dollars visiting Doctors whose plans ranged from cutting nerves, to literally wishing me luck, I was left hopeless and borderline suicidal. After extensive research, I flew to California for Dr. Towfigh's diagnosis. She took the time to evaluate what was wrong with me, explain all my conditions clearly, and set a plan of action. I had mesh and tack removal 2 months ago by Dr. Towfigh, and I'm recovering well. Much of the pain that plagued me has vanished, and my life is moving forward again. The team at Beverly Hills Hernia Center is responsive, efficient, and above all gives you the time you need as a patient. Nurse Bel, Sheila, Myron, and Dr. Towfigh, I'll say it countless times... Thank you :)

Dr. Towfigh is a client's dream. I have a very complicated hip/hernia case and she was able to save me thousands of dollars by not seeing other doctors once she viewed my images. I have a difficult case and am so grateful to see Dr. Towfigh. She then passed me along to another doctor who has a waiting time of 3-4 months and got me in the same day. I went to Dr. Towfigh for an initial consultation and had two other doctors set up for additional guidance and no longer feel the need to go to them. Her insight, patience and overall service is great. Shoutout to Bella (nurse) and Sheila (office manager) for making it a great experience. Couldn't recommend higher enough.

Excellent experience, the best hernia surgeon by far.

Dr. Shirin Towfigh and her staff are incredible. I had a folded-over hernia mesh that was causing terrible pain. Dr. Towfigh had the expertise to get the correct imaging done to diagnose what was going on correctly. Explained all of my questions very thoroughly and told me what my options were. Myron was also very helpful with the scheduling and worked very diligently on my behalf to get me scheduled. The office ladies and Nurse Bell were also great in getting questions answered and all other correspondence. Being that This was my first time in California and my first time having surgery since my mother passed away needless to say I was very nervous. I can attest that Dr. Towfigh's bedside manner is second to non. She has a very calming motherly presence in the operating room. I was walking on the beach within 48 hours of the surgery relatively pain-free. I can't Thank you and your team enough.

Dr. Shirin Towfigh is the best doctor I have ever dealt with! I had kidney stone surgery in the 1980’s, which caused weakness in my abdominal muscles. Ultimately this resulted in a major hernia, with my intestines pushing out through the hernia. Multiple doctors said it was only scar tissue. Then, a general surgeon said he could fix the bulge on my side. Not only, did this surgery not work, it caused more problems. Thankfully my orthopedic doctor suggested I go to Dr. Towfigh. what a blessing this turned out to be! Meeting Dr. Towfigh has truly been a blessing! She, and her staff (Bel and Sheila) are all amazing, caring people! I am so grateful for all of their help, patience and excellent care. My son was having recurring pain in his lower abdominal area over a period of many months which was preventing him from playing sports. Nothing showed up on MRI or ultrasound and other physicians/specialists were unable to diagnose him. After one visit, Dr. Towfigh determined that he was suffering from minute tear in the fascia (as opposed to an actual hernia or sports hernia). She gave him one low dose of cortisone in the affected area and he has been pain-free ever since. Dr. Towfigh is not only an amazing physician, she is honest, personable, caring and sincere. Additionally, all of the staff who works at her office, including Bel, the clinical nurse specialist, are all wonderful and go out of their way to fit you into Dr. Towfigh's busy schedule. I am beyond grateful that we were referred to Dr. Towfigh and that she was able to help my son after many months of pain and frustration. I highly recommend her.

Dr. Towfigh is the real deal. I had an umbilical hernia which started looking funky and I needed it fixed. You get what you pay for here and when I say you are in expert hands, believe me. I was so nervous for my surgery last December but Dr. Towfigh and her amazing team made it a breeze. I felt almost no pain, recovery wasn't too bad and I was back in the gym in 6 weeks. Flash forward almost a year and I was in severe stomach pain. I booked an appointment with Dr. Towfigh right away... A new hernia! I was bummed and in a lot of pain. Dr. Towfigh checked me out and found the problem and did NOT rush me back into unnecessary surgery. In fact, she told me to waiit out. A little over a week later and i'm back in the gym pretty much pain free. Point being, this woman knows her hernias. If I eventually need another surgery so be it, but I'm confident in my diagnosis and fully trust this doctor. Again, you get what you pay for. If you have a hernia, go see Dr. Towfigh.

I rarely ever ever write reviews. Only when I think my experience would be extremely useful to other people. I could not be more pleased by the Towfigh team from the start to my first 3 weeks after surgery. I had Dr Towfigh mesh removal from a bad reaction to a (sub par) inguinal hernia mesh done with a doctor in Miami. My first experience was a MRI that she literally walk me through every spec of the MRI showing me where I was having problems - she was spot on During the surgery another hernia hidden below was discovered. She removed the mesh and put a different type of mesh in. While I am still in recovery the team has been extremely helpful in helpping me through the process. They are amazing, skilled and the "Goat" of hernia repair. Tom Brady would be proud!. If you are looking for the cheapest, well you get what you pay for. Life changing team and much gratitude to Dr Towfigh and everyone who works with her. If nothing else, get her to look at your issues. True Fixers!
