I initially came to Dr. Shainhouse for my baby, who was dealing with eczema. She was great with her and resolving her skin issues. Since then I've been coming for myself and I find her to be so knowledgeable and willing to explain. She clearly has such a passion for what she does, and I feel like she's very up to date on studies. She's not an overprescriber, which I love (she's suggested many over-the-counter products to me). I'm so grateful to have found her -- she usually has openings so it's easy to find a time to see her. Her office is nothing fancy but you're getting someone who really knows their stuff and cares for her patients.

She’s horrible!!!! She double books patients everytime. If you schedule an appointment you are 100% going to wait more than 30 min. I have been 3 times and she was almost an hour late each time. She also doesn’t have receptionist to save money. She is so unprofessional it’s ridiculous.

Dr. Shainhouse is exactly what you hope for but rarely find. She's efficient, effective, and genuinely enjoyable to see. She diagnosed and resolved my issue in a single visit, which honestly felt like a minor miracle. We had one quick follow-up to confirm everything was on track, and instead of dragging things out, she was completely transparent and said I didn’t need to come back unless something changed—just reuse what she initially prescribed, if needed. Beyond the results, she’s incredibly personable, easy to talk to, and even funny, which makes a real difference in what can otherwise feel like a transactional experience. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and there was no one manning the front desk. I walk in and the front office space feels dirty and I just hear kids yelling. It’s 10 minutes past my appointment time and the Dermatologist comes out with the patient she was just with, no support staff, nurses or front desk people. The Dermatologist seemed flustered because the waiting room was now full of patients who haven’t been spoken to. I stood up after the patient left because it was now 15 minutes past my appointment time and was met with "not yet, I'm not ready for you" or something like that - it just all felt flustered and rude, especially when you're just there to see a Dermatologist about a problem and when you're paying an expensive copay to see this expert. I was put in a room 30 minutes after my appointment time by the Dermatologist herself - it felt rushed, like I didn’t have enough time to talk with her because she had 3 other people waiting for her services, I was told what I could have found via google. Wouldn't recommend going here.
