I'm revising my review for Dr. Stephen P. Schall. I have never been more disappointed in a doctor and I'm changing anything positive I have ever written about him. First off, let me start by saying I have been a patient of Dr. Schall's since I was 19 years old. I am now in my late 50's. I have never in all my years had any billing issues. I always paid $100 for a eye checkup even though I had insurance. I was informed that Dr. Schall sold his practice and his new front desk suggested that I utilize my insurance. I told the front desk that I didn't think my insurance covers for eye check-up...and the woman said that she checked my insurance and they WOULD IN FACT cover one eye exam. Okay, moving on two weeks after my eye exam with Dr. Schall, I have a severe emergency where half my face was blown up and my left eye was shut closed. I tried for almost one week to reach Dr. Schall's office and left numerous messages that it was an emergency. NEVER THE ENTIRE TIME DID HE RETURN ANY OF MY CALLS. I couldn't wait any longer and went to see a dermatologist who couldn't believe my face and asked if I had seen an eye doctor? I told him I tried for one week but received no response back from Dr. Schall. The Dermatologist was shocked and disgusted he said I needed to see an eye doctor pronto and his office set up an appointment for a doctor downstairs in his building. NOW, THAT'S A DOCTOR THAT TAKES CARE OF BUSINESS! Luckily, I was inside a Cedars Sinai building where many doctors were available. The new eye doctor was amazing and solved the problem gently and quickly. I had to end up paying $500 to walk into his office because I didn't have eye coverage. Low and behold, I also received a billing statement from Dr. Schall's office that I owed him money for my last eye exam. I'm sorry after his office said I have one eye exam free with my insurance! What's wrong with this picture? Dr. Schall finally calls me back the following week after I'm healed. His excuse is that his office has new management and he works out of another office. Basically, it was a FCK you, I'm gearing up to retire and no longer give a shit. I also tried to call and have them reverse this balance of $115.20 and was told by John who is his right-hand person that Dr. Schall can't do anything about it (we all know he just didn't want to do anything about it).Hank at the Optical Shop is still wonderful, he truly has the best frames I've ever seen anywhere and is as nice and sincere as can be. Unfortunately, I don't want to walk into Dr. Schall's office anymore, therefore I will need to find another Optical shop. I paid off the balance today because I'm not the type of person who would not pay for any services. All I'm saying is... it's amazing how you think you know someone and you don't. Years of praising Dr. Stepen Schall and sending him referrals were clearly a waste of time and undeserved. Goodbye Dr. Schall!

I LOVE DR. SCHALL!!!!!!!!!!! I'm a real scaredy cat when it comes to anyone touching my eyes...he is so wonderful and patient with me. I have been his patient for over 25 years...and will continue until the day he retires!!!!! Never hesitate once, he is the best of the best!!!!!!

He has been my doctor for years!!! So gentle and sweet.. I have major anxiety when anyone touches my eyes and he does it with ease.. Don't hesitate to make an appointment he is wonderful!

I have had to good fortune to be a patient of Dr. Schall for the past 30 years. He's one of the best ophthalmologists in the Los Angeles/Beverly Hills area. His professionalism and warm demeanor is comforting and his office staff is beyond reproach. Highly recommended!

I've been going to Dr. Schall for a few years. He answers all my questions with answers that make sense and will show me the answers visually on a big plastic eye. He's very knowledgeable and personable. Everyone in the whole office is nice and knows what they are doing.

I was calling the office, to book an appointment. The woman that answered had very bad attitude. Why would I even visit a Doktors office with such rude staff?? No way!!

Hank was awesome! He made my prescription lenses in 3 DAYS!! And perfect work. He totally matched the lenses from the original frames. Hank did wonderful work and was such a pleasure to work with and provided me with the best price around time. So glad I came across Hank and his team.
