Theodore M. Khalili's Online Review Report Card

Dr Khalili and team were amazing. I had started my journey with another well known doctor in Orange County, and throughout the process, just felt like something wasn't quite right. I am by no means a high maintanance patient, but I never felt as if the first office cared about me. I called and spoke with Dorothy, Dr. Khalili's business manager and instantly knew I was speaking with someone who would make sure I had the best experience possbile. From, my first meeting with Dr. Khalili and the rest of his team, I knew I had make a great decision in changing my doctor. Dr Khalili is a lovely person, he shows he cares, but he is also very confident, which of course makes you feel better. I felt that all the necessary tests were done, that he and his team knew I was well prepped for surgery. I had surgery a couple of weeks ago, and everyone has followed up to make sure I am doing well and doing what I am supposed to be doing in order to get myself healthy. Many thanks to everyone on his team including: Janelle, who manuvered insurance and surgery dates & Misty, who makes sure I stay on course nutritionwise. Thanks Dr. Khalili, I feel so much healthier already!

After I posted this review I was contacted by Michael from The Khallili Center. He apologized and said the last thing they want is for me to feel alone in this situation. He said they would continue to see me at the rate I had been paying up 'til then. I am very grateful that the office will help me, and I did know that Dr. K would never have wanted me to go without care since I had been his patient for close to ten years. The problem was I wasn't allowed to communicate with Dr. Khallili or anyone else. I was told by the office manager NO and there wasn't anywhere else to go. I believe that now there will be a different method. Dr. K is a great surgeon, no one would ever say otherwise, and he is a kind person. I am very relieved that I will still be able to get help.

I had lapband surgery with Dr. Khallili in 2007 while he was still at Cedars Sinai. Over the years I've had to have the band repeatedly 'adjusted,' I've had it 'dialate' so I was throwing up in my sleep, and now I have chronic heartburn. Because my current insurance will not cover the lapband adjustments I've had to pay out of pocket. Now I have chronic acid reflux. I was never told that continuous use of proton pump inhibitors (the prescribed heartburn medication) could harm your kidneys. I have no choice but to have the band adjusted again, and I have to pay what they charge because if I dont the heartburn medication is going to kill my kidneys. I'm hoping that 'emptying' the lap-band will reverse the acid reflux, otherwise i"m going to be worse off than I started, and I've been told by the office manager that if I dont come up with $300 per visit I'm SOL. Over the years I've really come to like Dr. K, and I believe he's a good surgeon. But I feel abandoned and kind of afraid and it sucks.

My Experience at the Khalili center was a great one, i was referred to Dr Khalili and was told that he is one of the best this city has to offer and now i will vouch for that. i had a sleeve gastectomy surgery done December 2015. it was a text book operation as Dr Khalili described it, i was well prepared for all that followed the surgery with no surprises.i am well on the way to my goal weight and the life style changes i need to do.i am very thankful to Dr Khalili for his expertise, kindness and of course the steady hands.The Khalili Center holds all that one needs under one roof, whether it was a meeting with the nutritionist, psychiatrist, team of doctors or the administrating staff someone is always taking care of you and making sure things are moving the right way and your comfort comes first.you know they care when you feel important even after you had completed your surgery, they always follow up and offer support in addition to the complimentary support groups the clinic offers. I don't think there is another clinic in this level in LA, i think they are worth every penny you spend with them and i know you will be in good hands. they are the real deal, the facilities are new, fresh, top of the line all around.Rani

Dr. Khalili has saved my life. I am not being dramatic either. I was so so sick with gastric ulcers and a hernia. I was terrified and scared because I couldn't eat anything. Not only did Dr. Khalili and his master team of surgeons repair the ulcer wrapped around my liver, they did follow up so I was able to go back to work in less than 4 weeks. What can I say about a team of doctors that saved my life? Excellent doctors and I am so grateful. I was overweight they fixed that, I had a hernia, they fixed that, I had an ulcer wrapped around my liver, yes they fixed that. The best doctors in the city.

Dr. Khalili performed my gastric by-pass over 10 years ago. I had some recent problems with a hernia that needed to be repaired. The doctor, his staff, the facility is 5 diamond.while i wasn't able to stay at The Pearl recovery center, I was taken care of and I love love, love Dr. K.A tricky procedure, but all is well.Kathy R.

And these standards extend beyond the doctors to the rest of the staff as well. Dietician Misty Gueron, for example, possesses a wealth of knowledge about bariatric friendly food and the nutritional needs of patients who’ve had, or are recovering from Bariatric surgery. The high level of care at Khalili Center goes beyond just providing expert surgical treatment. At Khalili, patients are guided through every step of the bariatric surgical process. From guidance on diet, fitness, wellness, and psychological changes that come with weight loss surgery, to building a strong sense of community through support groups and special Run/Walk events that enable patients to interact with the doctors and other Khalili Center patients. Equally impressive is the Khalili Center itself. It’s quite simply a beautiful facility, that’s outfitted with a state-of-the-art array of equipment and technology. I found its sleek modern design to be both inspiring and welcoming. The open layout accurately represents the openness of the Khalili doctors and staff. My overriding feeling in regard to the Khalili Center is one of being inspired and welcomed by the professionalism and compassion displayed by the Khalili staff, as well as being impressed by the Khalili Center itself. I honestly couldn’t recommend them highly enough.
