It was not a particularly easy task to go to a clinic, take a medicine with mind altering effects, and trust the doctors and staff, whom I'd never met. But as soon as I arrived at the Wilshire Institute, Dr. Galicki and her staff, especially Kalindra, made me feel immediately at ease and cared for. The pre-treatment chats with Dr. Galicki, though brief, were something I looked forward to each week, in fact, one of the most difficult things about coming to the end of treatment was adjusting to no longer visiting the institute. I've never had this feeling at any facility in my 34 years of life. I was listened to and never had to repeat myself on subsequent visits. I was connected to resources that were incredibly helpful in integrating Spravato treatment. Every step in the process was easy, which can be huge for people struggling with depression. My life post treatment at the Wilshire Institute is a complete 180 from where I was when I first started. I was measuredly hopeful that treatment would provide me relief from persistent depression--I had become convinced I was incapable of experiencing true joy. The Wilshire Institute gave me my mind back. It gave me space to breath again. I'll forever be grateful.
