Zain Al-Safi's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Al-Safi was super helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. He always made sure our questions were answered and he was always appropriately optimistic about our situation! I have already recommended him to friends looking for a fertility specialist.

I wanted to leave this before my IVF procedure so I could be objective regardless of the results because I found Dr. Al Salfi to be a consummate professional, very knowledgeable, always timely, and super responsive to my emails through out the process. My IVF was a success but regardless of the outcome he was a great doctor to have and if I choose to have more children I would love to go back to him.

Just went for one fertility consultation but I immediately sought out a new doctor. He rushed through the appointment, rattling off dismal statistics about my infertility, and did not have the empathy or compassion I needed, especially given the gravity of what he was so casually telling me. He was brief in his explanations and I left our appointment feeling much more confused than I started and only after speaking to another doctor do I feel I know how to proceed. He also stated that diminished ovarian reserve has nothing to do with my fertility, and that my infertility was separate from that issue and just "unexplained," which literally isn't true and led to my confusion. Many of the statistics he gave me, I know now, were also needlessly grim and low, and didn't take into account things like genetic testing, age, etc.

We have tried numerous fertility treatments and specialists over the last 4+ years without success. Our experience with Dr. Al-Safi was exceptional. It wasn't just the success of our latest IVF treatment that made Dr. Al-Safi top notch to us, but rather the compassion, professionalism, precise and accurate decision making, and prompt follow-up that truly set him apart. His positive outlook and determination to see us succeed was refreshing and appreciated. Communication, positive or otherwise, is one of the most important aspects of a providers responsibility and Dr. Al-Safi was always direct and straight forward yet tactful and compassionate. He never avoided difficult conversations and always followed up promptly with requests and questions. We are sincerely grateful for his efforts. We should mention the competency and follow up of Nurse Megan Nilles who played a key role in organizing appointments for procedures, explaining costs involved, and so much more.

I just wanted to start by saying WOW! After having four consecutive miscarriages, I decided to take matters into my own hands and seek help from the best of the best. My husband and I first went to UCLA (over an hour away each direction) to meet Dr. Al-Safi back in January 2020. We had a very in depth consultation regarding my past medical history as well as avenues to take going forward. We chose to run every possible test, blood panel, karyotyping, etc to rule out everything possible. He left absolutely no leaf unturned. I came with a HUGE list of questions (over 30) and he answered them all. He is extremely professional and never made me feel silly or ignorant for asking the questions I had. After exhausting every possibility and coming up with no "issues" for myself nor my husband, we chose to go the IVF route. It was quite a process and commitment on my end as well as Dr. Al-Safi's. I followed his instructions to a 'T' and IT WORKED!!!

It has been a truly great experience working with Dr. Al-Safi! To begin, he is highly attentive and has a wonderful bedside manner. I appreciate his vast knowledge, training, and expertise in the subject matter. Also, his prompt response and observant care has put us at ease during a time that can be overwhelming and scary. We are very thankful to have such an amazing doctor!

We went for one visit. I feel like it was a waste of time. There is a reason why he’s the first available physician in the office. He didn’t work with me to create the fertility plan that I wanted. On the plus side for those of us without fertility coverage, he doesn’t order unnecessary tests.

Dr. Al-Safi is a great doctor, on a professional and personal level. When people go through these things is not always easy to find someone who really understands how traumatic is for patients and how much support they need and they expect. He followed me step by step, and as a patient I always felt I was in really good hands. He is extremely qualified. I would definitely recommend Dr. Al-Safi.

I was referred to Dr. Al-Safi by my doctor and was very happy and comfortable under his care. He has a great easygoing bedside manner, and I never felt rushed during appointments. I’d highly recommend Dr. Al-Safi!

I found Dr. Al-Safi @ UCLA after I had been working with a small local fertility practice. Things were not going well for me... Dr. Al-Safi ran all the tests/ exams needed, he was very respectful, listened to all my complaints and worries. He would call me directly if something came up or we'd email back and forth. AND... I actually conceived with the FIRST IUI!!! ?? He's a great doctor, I highly recommend him. Having fertility issues is pretty frustrating and scary he takes the time to explain.
