Dorothy Klein Md's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Klein was chosen as a pediatrician for my daughter while I was pregnant after a tour and long meeting to discuss our family values, including our choice to not vaccinate. She disagreed with our position but was willing to respect it. A year later my daughter's father (who didn't attend any appointments past a few weeks old) was removed from my home for my safety and that of my daughter's.Dr. Klein was aware of the circumstances, and personally experienced his abusive behavior over e-mail and while he attempted recording her during a check-up he attended (she finally got him to leave his phone in the hallway before beginning the appointment). Despite her knowledge of that, and of ongoing litigation while attempting to protect my daughter from our abuser, she chose to write a declaration for the abuser in support of vaccines, outlining my refusal to vaccinate and the father's desire to vaccinate. (The abuser was the driving force behind NOT vaccinating which Dr. Klein knew based on our meeting prior to childbirth along with my need to call him and get his permission to vaccinate the two times I consented during a check-up, and the abuser had not magically changed his position - his attorney told him, in my presence, that he would gain custody if he was pro-vaccine and I was anti. Immediately thereafter he began pushing his litigation strategy to maintain his power and control over me by gaining custody of our young child.) When speaking to Dr. Klein about her dangerous choice to write a declaration in support of an abuser, she refused to listen about the ACTUAL issue, which was not vaccines. She admitted to knowing what the abuser was doing and chose to ignore all of that and not make it "personal." She insisted it was solely about her position on vaccines. I tearfully begged her to learn about abusers, neutrality towards an abuser, and abuser advocates but she refused to even listen, focusing only on her vaccine position (which is still not what was concerning for me since I've known her position for four years). She never ONCE heard or cared about my position or the safety of my child. Literally wouldn't even let me speak or agree to learn about abusers and their use of third parties to help them further their agenda.I am hopeful that most readers of Yelp won't require this sort of insight since that would mean you are being or having been abused, but if you are, please steer clear as it is evident that this pediatrician was amenable to being used as a tool in court. I am deeply saddened by her blatant disregard for an abused child and the mother who desires to protect that child, her (former) patient. And Dr. Klein, I wish with all of my being you would care to learn about something that harms my child (and thousands of children in this city) every single day of her life. Far more children are injured every day by abuse than by not being vaccinated.

Dr. Klein is amenable to being used as a tool in court. She admitted to knowing exactly what the abuser was doing, and that he hadn't actually changed his stance on anything. Despite that, she wrote a declaration for him and refuses to understand the detriment she could have caused to a young child. When tearfully begging her to learn about this sort of abuse so that she isn't used as a tool in the future for another abuser, she refused. I am deeply saddened by her blatant disregard for an abuse

Dr. Klein is a fantastic pediatrician.  We switched from another pediatrician in Santa Monica to Dr. Klein about 6 months ago because we couldn't get into our pediatrician's office for a flu shot.  The wait at my old pediatrician's office was a month just to come in and have a nurse give a flu shot.  I called Westside Pediatrics and they were so responsive and willing to give my kids the flu shot even though they weren't patients of record in their office.  When we went in, we were so impressed with their nurses and front desk.  They are so nice and sweet.  The office is small, cute and very homey feeling, which is great for the kids.  Their fish tank in the waiting room is beautiful.  They have a sick kids entrance and waiting room, which I think is great.  Anyway, they were so easy and nice to work with that I decided to actually switch my kids to their office!  Dr. Klein was really great with my kids and I love how easy it is to get in touch with her.  In the last 6 months my daughter had a fever of 105 that had us really worried and my son has had croup.  dr. Klein handled both of these issues so well.  I have been able to email and text with her, and call her on her cell phone.  When your kids are really sick, having a pediatrician you can really count on is invaluable.  Their website is great, too.  Being able to access health forms for school or camp is so easy.  My old pediatrician would charge me $25 to get a copy of their health records!  Anyway, I highly recommend Dr. Klein and her team!

It is such an honor to write a testimonial for Dr. Klein! Our 2 sons and daughter have been patients of Dr. Klein for over 3 years now.  We adore Dr. Klein and her staff at Westside Pediatrics!!  She is kind, caring and fun. The care and attention that our children receive from her is outstanding.  Dr. Klein never rushes through our appointment and our entire family just adores her.  Our wait time is always minimal!  We feel like we are treated like family when we are in the office and we refer friends to her constantly!!
