Richard L. Friedman's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Friedman has been my doctor for 6 years now and has preformed 2 surgeries on me one including a full hysterectomy. I honestly have been blessed to be able to find him as my doctor. I had other gynos before that couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. Everyone in the office is so nice too. Helen, Karina, Zyda, Roxanne, Cindy, Dr. Nancy everyone.

Impossible to schedule an appointment. I've been trying to call for 2 weeks and no one answers. I understand that the office is very busy, but they shouldn't be careless towards patients.

Simply put, Dr Friedman did more than just save my life, he resided my quality of life. I struggled for almost a year with crippling endometriosis until he operated on me. Within 24 hours I was cured I have my life back. He’s a genuinely kind human, a bit crazy, which makes him even more adorable, and clearly a brilliant surgeon. Every nurse we spoke to at the hospital turns out to have been one of his patients! It’s not just Dr Friedman. He’s built an incredible team of compassionate people, from Roxanne at the front desk to Zaida and everyone in between. I only wish we could find some way to thank them for everything they’ve done for us.

Absolutely wonderful experience! No complaints. Wish I had another reason to go back. Dr. Friedman is kind and patient. He has Great bedside manner.

Bad Almost impossible to schedule for an appointment. Unorganized and a lot of rescheduling

Consider yourself incredibly lucky to have found this doctor. I certainly do. You may be put off by a long wait time in the office or an initial visit that might not go according to what you would expect, but you must trust that you've found one of the most skilled, talented, caring and conscientious surgeons in the field. Also, understand that Dr. Friedman is incredibly compassionate. He does not refuse many cases, and there are, sadly, many women with complex cases, in need of the best gynecologic oncologist, so his waiting room is always filled.Dr. Friedman is a bright light in his field. It is well documented, but I can attest to that, personally, due to my experience with him and his judiciously cultivated team of astute professionals. Dr. Friedman took my case almost 10 years ago. I have a condition that requires constant check ups, and, sadly, multiple surgeries. These surgeries are sometimes less threatening than others, but if I had chosen any other surgeon, I would have been rendered disfigured a long time ago. Dr. Friedman took the time to really get to know me and my health history. He understands when certain issues can be monitored closely, and when they must be addressed immediately. He's taken it upon himself to make sure that he sees me regularly and on a consistent basis. He knows my health better than my G.P.!I just recently had another surgery with Dr. Friedman, and after, I was reminded of the exact reasons why he is such a star in his field: 1) He continues his education. He never stops researching better ways to treat his patients. He is at least three steps ahead of other surgeons when it comes to using state of the asset equipment or medicinal protocols. I should know. I've seen quite a number of the OB/Gyns before finding Dr. Friedman. He uses treatments years before many other doctors incorporate them. His post procedure protocol leaves me with minimal scarring - if any! 2) He treats each patient on a highly -personalized level, using the best techniques and procedures to fit his patients' personal needs. He takes his patients' personalities and priorities into consideration. 3) He is skilled beyond belief. He eats sleeps and breathes his profession, and he has a very steady hand. My recovery time is always short, in part, because he removes only what needs to be removed, and does not overdo it. With all the surgeries I've had, nobody would know. I am not impaired in any way, and my life has been made better.4) He is very discriminating in choosing his team. He really is tough on his team, but he brings out the very best in all of them. You can be assured that his team are personally invested in your well-being. They are bright, brilliant people who operate on a very high frequency. He expects the best, and he gets the best.5) He cares about his patients as if they were his own family. Plain and simple. I have the peace of mind that no matter what happens with this troubled area of my anatomy, I am in the best, most capable hands. Worry is the last thing a person needs when dealing with a very serious health issue. Knowing Dr. Friedman is in control is enough to keep me calm and focused on just enjoying life and getting better.

My wife's coworker highly recommended Dr. Friedman, so I called on her behalf to set an appointment. Little did I know it would take a grueling work of several voicemails and emails with a front desk lady Roxanne. I was able to finally get an appointment after 2 months of hassle, because my wife's health is more important. Appointment was set TWO MONTH out. During this interaction, the front desk started screening me, asking me for medical records of my wife, and to call my insurance to make sure I am covered. That's all fine, but this was all prior to setting an appointment. The doctor had to say okay before we can set the appointment... Folks, this is a prime example of one of thousand reasons wrong with the American health system. Since when did EPO/PPO network need to be screened to see a doctor? The front desk lady was very nice, and always followed up no matter the time lapse. But nice doesn't save lives. I am sure they are all very qualified and kind people. However, they really need to revamp their processes. I was able to get an appointment with Cedar Sinai (my provider), in a few minutes. I went out of my way because I wanted to get the best care for my wife, and you know what? I think I did in the end.

Best doctor!!!! He is incredible, if you have any problem, he is the person to see.

Trying to make an appointment and reach a real person is impossible. I'm a new patient with an urgent issue and can't get a call back. Maybe they need more people to make appointments? Could barely get a word in with the desk when I was trying to talk to a real person. Just sent me right back to voicemail. If I hear back and can get an appointment I'll update this review. For now I would say pass on these guys though.... **Updated 2 weeks later. The office got back to me and was very nice. Still can't see the doc for a month or two. They are very overwhelmed. I found another amazing gynecology specialist Dr. Steven Rabin in Burbank who saw me right away and I have a surgery scheduled for next week. I'm sure Dr. Friedman is a great doctor. Just can't get in to see him at this point. If you need someone right away check out Dr. Rabin.

I had a total hysterectomy two weeks ago with Dr. Friedman and I feel absolutely amazing. He did it with the SILS procedure. One incision in the belly button - I spent one night in the hospital because the procedure took a little longer than he originally thought but I have had zero surgical pain!!I was seeing another doctor in Burbank who wanted to do an open hysterectomy and I just wasn't happy with his demeanor and complexity of things. I kept hearing Dr. Friedman's name come up from various sources and I went with my gut feeling. From the moment I met him and his wonderful staff I felt confident and safe. Of you need any procedure done, go and see Dr. Friedman. It may take a little time for an appointment but it's so worth it on my opinion! I'm so thankful I'm done with fibroids and bleeding and I am feeling so good so quickly!
