List of Lana X. Tong's Reviews
She's a good doctor but her staff is rude, unsympathetic and ghetto. Get with it doctor and hire some professionals , it's not a good look and downgrades your practice TBH
Really nice doctor. Dr Tong helped me manage a condition that I was worried about and I actually got better after a few weeks I tried some online remedies and they didnt really do anything so it was definitely worth the doctor visit. Also Dr Tong was particularly helpful and I would recommend her.I think some people are confusing their office experience with the doctor experience so the reviews here are kind of mixed.
Worst experience ever I can’t express in words how much disappointment I felt from the visit. I booked appointment at 800am I got lost in the parking lot and didn’t find the way to the building and it happened to me unfortunately I late 10 minutes.I rushed to get upstairs and they didn’t listen and didn’t let me in. I was so upset and confused it never happened to me before. I lived in 3 different countries and I have been at doctors offices many times my mom is doctor too and never experienced anything like this before. I had legitimate 4 minutes from my appointment I late 10 minutes and my appointment is 15min and I had small requests from doctor and I wanted to quickly talk to doctor but the clerks were angry at me and even doubted my language skills “do you know what LATE means?” They told me? I wanted to cry I spend 40 minutes driving and in total 1 hour in my life to be there without even see a doctor.I will never come back to this office. I think this is pure humiliation what I went through. I begged to see a doctor I only late 10 minutes it can happen to everyone we are human. But I don’t have to be punished because of it. As a patient a client I expected understanding and willing to help.Thank you for reading this.
I was so nervous to see Dr. Tong after reading these Yelp reviews. It's very important to me to stay very safe during this awful pandemic, AND to see a doctor who knows what they're doing. I shared my COVID safety concerns with the backoffice staff on the phone (I believe her name is Nancy) and she was so patient and understanding-- she helped me with everything I needed to be safe. Btw, Dr. Tong had a properly fitted face mask and a face shield. I don't recall if it was an N95 mask (hopefully it was, to protect her, and therefore, patients). Another reviewer said her mask was falling so I thought I should report to y'all-- her mask was well placed and perfect for my visit. Dr. Tong seriously impressed me. She is thoughtful in her communication, easy to chat with, super informative, and friendly. She warned me that a biopsy on my foot would likely be painful, and this really worried me. I told her I didn't know how to decide of I should do it..... and she helped me decide!! She went tiny step by tiny step to see how I was tolerating it, and we got it done! She was so thorough in her explanations, and anticipated what info might be most important to me. I'm really glad I got to see Dr. Tong today, and I hope more people add reviews. She's a real keeper!
Will leave my experience about the office in the Sutter Burlingame listing, but my experience with Dr Tong was awesome. She was very courteous and friendly, which was especially appreciated because I was nervous about showing my condition. She answered all my questions, and I felt a lot of relief knowing it wasn't as serious as I thought. Definitely worth it over searching online. Afterwards, I was able to follow her instructions and was much better after a few weeks.

I saw Dr Tong for Shingles. She was very nice and caring. I was able to recover quickly.
Disappointing. Saw Dr. Tong during covid, summer 2020. My OBGYN contacted her office notifying them it was urgent I be seen. For whatever reason, her office staff made it difficult for me to book an appointment. They keep wanting a referral even though I have a PPO and never need a referral. Finally got the appointment. Came in to see her. Her waiting room was completely packed and barely anyone was social distancing. I was told she was running behind. As I waited patiently, I noticed every patient exiting the exam rooms was not wearing masks. Very frustrating. As a pregnant woman, I was taking every precaution to stay safe during Covid. When I got to the exam room I didn't have to wait longer than 10 minutes. When doctor and her tech arrived, I noticed Dr. Tong's mask kept slipping off her face. She never readjusted it. By the end of the visit her mask was down to her chin. She was nice, but not thorough whatsoever. She didn't give me a physical exam and when I tried to explain my symptoms she just kept saying she didn't see any rash and this was normal during pregnancy. I asked her if there was any cream or medication she could give me and she said no. Then she said she wanted to biopsy. I asked her why she would biopsy me if she thought this was normal in pregnancy and couldn't see anything wrong. She had no answer for a reason for biopsy. She just wanted to biopsy. I declined. The visit lasted seven minutes. She billed my insurance $400. I'm grateful I have great insurance so I didn't have to pay $400. Nevertheless, how this appointment played out was a waste of time. Would not go back.
Dr. Tong took the time to listen to my concerns and explained things well. She was great! She is a good listener and offers honest advice. I am very satisfied with the treatment. I would highly recommend her to all my friends!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
