Soar Surgery Center's Online Review Report Card

This place is just ok. The building looks outdated and neglected. The center itself looks remodeled, but I can tell the Hvac system doesn't get serviced much (dirty supply/return registers in the actual surgery rooms). The entire staff is friendly. I also did not like how they pre-charged me a coinsurance amount at the time of checking in (which is a no-no that my insurance explained to me). If they didn't charge me, I'd give 3-stars.

Easy to find, good customer service from the initial contact at the front desk all the way through the good bye at the end of my procedure. They even have warmed-up blankets for when you hop onto the procedure gurney. Look, if you're coming here, it's probably not for funsies -- but these folks clearly do care about ensuring you have the best care possible. That rates 5 stars in my book.

Most of the center's patients are seniors & the staff were very patient and had excellent peoples skill. Dr Stefan Chin explained perfectly everything before I had my colonoscopy. The procedure was a breeze.

First, let me express my utmost respect for the medical workers who have been risking themselves during difficult times, including staff hired by Soar Surgery Center. Without them, California would not have survived pandemic so far. I truly believe they deserve better support from community and government. Those being said, I still need to write about my personal experience with them, a terrible one that should be called "incident". I came in for GI earlier this year. The entire process was done in a little over an hour and it went smooth. But there were some critical errors in the service provided by Soar Surgery Center employees. 1) Old short Caucasian lady I will not mention her name but she was introduced to me as a specialist to monitor anesthesia during the exam. I'm not complaining about her age or personality. She seemed to me a very attentive person with nice attitude. While they were transporting the bed on which I was lying, to the examination room, the lady grabbed the shoes I was wearing with both hands. And once the bed was parked, she proceeded to use her hands to spray my throat without washing or sanitizing them (or wearing gloves). It was an incredible behavior that disappointed me greatly. I don't want to blame her, but this is something that should not be allowed no matter what. I know she would not have done the same to a white American patient. 2) Young Indian lady I will not write her name that I saw on her name tag. She was supervising an inexperienced nurse who seemed to be on training. She was polite and communicating with me respectfully. After the exam, they sent me back to the waiting room where I got off bed and put on clothes before meeting my doctor. I found my mask that I was originally wearing abandoned on the floor and I didn't bother picking it up (they replaced it with new mask prior to GI and I kept wearing it until I got home). As I was leaving, this Indian lady chased after me with a mask in her hand saying "this is your mask". She said she found it on the bed, not on the floor like it was. This is not funny. She gave me back the contaminated mask and tried to make me believe it was clean. This is a very bad practice of business and potentially a dangerous thing to do. Please stop what you're doing to your patient whether he is API or a regular white American. Those 2 errors should not be repeated at Soar Surgery Center. Please take measures to correct their wrong doings. I could appeal this case further because this is serious, but out of respect for their job, I would leave it at that.

This is a new facility and is easy to find. The place is spacious and spotless and the furniture, etc., is all in great shape. The receptionists are all polite and efficient, as is the medical staff. One of the medical staff is Justin, HE IS GREAT. He's friendly, reassuring and efficient. My physician, Dr Stefan Chin, is friendly and informative. I would 100% recommend this facility.

Please, STAY AWAY FROM THIS SURGERY CENTER!!!! To begin with, I had my surgery before a holiday, so it is possible that this was not the routine staff. Regardless, the staff was extremely unprofessional. 1. The nurses made fun of a medication I took. It made me very uncomfortable. 2. I told the nurse I was very nervous and asked that my mom come from the waiting room. They said they couldn't have her there during prep, but that would get her in ten minutes. They then gave me a sedative through an IV. They then asked me to sign papers WHILE ON A SEDATIVE. This is not only unprofessional, but not legal. I couldn't even sign the papers because of the IV, so had to sign with my left hand. A definite no no. 3. They started to wheel me to surgery, and I asked where my mom was. She also expressed concern to the staff, and they brought her out for the 10 seconds before I was wheeled in. I was very upset going into surgery, which I am now learning effected my healing process. 4. After surgery a male nurse was assigned to me. He kept flirting with me and making strange comments, even though my fiance was standing next to me. He made us both very uncomfortable. Then when he was removing the electrode pads from the top of my chest, he pulled my gown down to expose me. The pads were nowhere NEAR that area, and did not need to do that. He should have had a female nurse do this. I was post surgery so still very groggy and confused. It was awful. 5. The staff did not provide me with any post-surgery directions. They literally wheeled me to the car and left me. I had to call my surgeon to ask what to do. Very unprofessional. 6. Months later I filed a complaint with SOAR Surgery. The head nurse reached out and apologized. I let her know the seriousness of the male nurse's actions. She then offered to send me a letter and gift card to "apologize" for my poor experience. Uh, what???? Oh, and I never received the letter. Please, stay away from SOAR. Stay away from this surgery center. I would hate to have my experience happen to anyone else.

Long story short, I wrecked my knee and needed surgery to repair the damage. The surgical center is located in a startlingly nondescript building. The lobby of the center itself is comfortable, even if you have to wait for a while with your banged-up and sore knee propped up for a spell until you're taken to the back. The pre-op area is dated in its appearance and a bit on the chilly side (though I do recall being either given an extra blanket or something while I waited to be wheeled to the OR, so it's not like I was shivering on the gurney). It was otherwise immaculate. Always reassuring. The anesthesiologist, nurses, etc. were all extremely responsive to my needs. Pair that with the fine work performed by Dr. Dillingham, and frankly, I couldn't have asked for a less stressful experience. Surgery is never fun, but when the people running the show keep things moving while making sure you're as comfortable as possible, it makes it bearable.

All the staff, from the receptionist to medical, were outstanding and did their job well. Special kudos to all the nursing staff, pre- and post-op. They were all thoughtful, considerate, and answered questions in a thorough, complete, professional manner. And Dr. Solina Tith, MD, was one of the finest anesthesiologists I have encountered in many years. I appreciate Dr. Lawrence Oloff, DPM's, thoughtful care and surgical expertise. Thank you to all! My wife had orthopedic surgery this week at SOAR. The staff was uniformly professional, caring and friendly. The same nurse answered all her pre-op questions by phone before the procedure, was with her in the recovery room and called the next day to see how she was doing. Very impressed!

X-Ray Machine broke during surgery! The entire staff was very professional and I couldn't have asked for more from the front my desk, anesthesiologist, surgeon, or immediate nursing staff. This is directed at the management for not having a back-up plan for an X-ray machine. While the facility was modern otherwise, the surgeon had to stop just after he started, close my wife up, and move her to another facility. Fortunately the surgeon was patient and willing to do this and the OR staff was apologetic. If you're considering this clinic, confirm their equipment first!
