List of Amy Jo Gowan's Reviews
Amy is a excellent doctor Iam her patient past 14 years no complaints now her receptionist is awesome she answering phn call back v nice professional lady 😍
Dr G is my wife’s doctor. My wife has been having breathing/possibly lung or heart related. When she calls the office invariably she gets the answering machine and they don’t take messages so you have to keep calling until you are lucky enough to get the gate keeper. Invariably it’s the gate keeper that calls back presumably after she’s talked to Dr G. During that time period she may have talked the Dr twice and subsequently with a substitute twice. Recently my wife had a stroke and the stroke department at London University removed the clot successfully. They recommended contacting her GP immediately on her return home. She did on the first office day on her return home. For the first time left a message. No response back that day or a good part of the following day and finally called again. Gate keeper took the message. Following day Gatekeeper called to say Dr couldn’t see her for a month and if she had problems go to Emerg. Meanwhile Dr had time to do a photo op for the local newspaper giving her mother-in-law a COVIS valine shot. 3 1/2 weeks later she still hasn’t received a call from the Dr. Not sure the value of a family doctor in my wife’s situation other than fire Dr G and apply to the waiting list for a new Dr and that could take a lot of time.
She’s an excellent doctor who is worth the wait to see. And my friends tell me her wait is less than other family doctors around. I think her wait times have also improved now that she is doing phone appointments during these coronavirus times. Let’s support our doctors who are working hard during this pandemic, and not spread negativity by criticizing them online.
Impossible to get an appointment and shes never in office. Impossible to get a hold of and the receptionist is very rude. Its very frustrating and feels you dont have a doctor. Information had been entered wrong, reports lost. Never any followup. Very poorly run office. Found a new doctor luckily and very happy.
I like Dr. Gowan as a doctor, she has been great for my children's shots and whatever... But, I can never get in to see her when we're sick or need of medical assistance. It's always 2-3 weeks before they can get us in, Instead, I always end up waiting 5-7 hours in the emergency instead. It's ridiculous! What's the point of even having a family doctor. I don't think i have seen her for myself in about 5 years. also... not a big fan of the receptionist either. She has broken some of my patient-confidentiality information in the past, and she likely breaks others on the regular.
We have had Amy as our family doc for 10 years. I have had a couple of very serious surgeries and she personally calls me at home to ensure I am getting everything I need. She has been excellent and her receptionist Heather equally exceptional in taking care of tests, follow-ups with my oncologist and prescription refills....made to feel like they are on hot standby for us. Very impressed and couldn’t be happier. I had to get 58 staples removed at a critical post surgery time and she made time to meet me on a Saturday morning at our local hospital to ensure it was done in accordance to my neurosurgeon’s protocol.
I have had Dr, Gowan for a few years. I don't have and issue with her specifically. I have a problem with her receptionist. She is really rude and doesn't greet you with a positive attitude. I felt like I was more of an inconvenience rather than a patient. Dr. Gowan on the other hand greets you and makes you feel welcome, but if you come to her with a question about pain and you are slightly overweight she tells you that you are experiencing this pain because you are "fat" and makes you feel guilty for having the extra pounds.
She's been my family doctor for 9 years now, and I greatly appreciate her excellent care!
Dr.gowan has been our family doctor for few years now and everytime i go to make an appointment u can never get through as the call goes to voice mail.we live out of town and its long distance for us. It took me 3 weeks to get ahold of the receptionist. I called on my breaks i called on my days off every hour, and still nothing. When i finally got in to see dr. Gowan there was another doctor taking her spot. Was not informed about it at all. We go to hospital now for appointment as it takes forever to see her and forever for the receptionist to answer.must be nice to have an all day lunch .my son was on wsib from hurt at work and couldnt get in for her to see him or fill out paper work.pretty sad .also people do talk about her and the receptionists while sitting in the waiting room as you can hear them taking about other peoples problems not good its none of there business.
They waste ur time. Receptionist not the greatest either. You will probably die, there is no concern for any symptoms.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
