John Davidson's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Davidson seemed very rushed during consultation, and just like the review from Mistreated in Ojai above I felt he was trying to upsell me to a multifocal lens with laser. His flyer even wrongly stated that there would be no vision correction at all with scalpel surgery. The lens manufacturer told me a lens without correction doesn’t even exist. That dishonest brochure was part of his upsell effort. When I consulted Dr. Trotter he told me that I wasn't even a multifocal lens candidate, and quoted me $1800 instead of $3500 for laser surgery. I opted for traditional scalpel surgery and couldn't be happier with results. I don't think it could have turned out better. I want to repeat that I'm not disparaging Dr. Davidson's skills at all since I didn’t use him. I opted for another doctor because I felt that he was upselling hard and he just didn't seem to listen or take serious time with me. My consultation with him lasted 5-7 minutes, while Dr. Trotter spent 20 mins or more with me.

After a botched cataract surgery by another doctor, I went to Dr. Davidson for a consultation. He was very patient and answered all my questions. He reassured me that replacing the lens would be the best thing to do. 2 weeks later he removed the questionable lens and replaced it with the proper one. I can't say enough about Dr. Davidson other than he was wonderful and i am extremely pleased with the outcome. I highly recommend Dr. Davidson to anyone needing cataract surgery.

Outstanding physician and surgeon

Oh my! I'm very surprised to see such negative reviews from a few years ago. One month ago I had a cataract removed and look forward to another in a month or two. My experience FROM THE INITIAL VISIT UNTIL THE DAY I WALKED OUT WITH A PATCH ON MY EYE was terrific! I am looking forward to the next appointment. Dr. Davidson and every staff member I''ve dealt with have been delightful. I'd recommend his services un a heartbeat.

Guess he thinks he’s a god. Methinks not. I have never been treated so rudely by anyone, let alone a doctor. Upon meeting him to discuss surgery, I explained how frightened I was. He examined my eyes and began to explain the choices in procedures. Because all of my friends had had the basic procedure, tried and true, he asked me why I’d made such a stupid or illogical choice? I said, money, medicare pays for it, and before I could finish explaining, he got up, said if I didn’t want the lazer procedure, he couldn’t be my surgeon, and walked out of the room. I was dumbfounded. I didn’t get a chance to ask, besides an upsale, why lazer was the best procedure for me when everyone I knew had had the basic procedure. I didn’t get to ask any questions. Guess he has so many patients running to have him do their surgery that he could be so rude and dismissive to a nervous and very uptight patient.

From our 1st visit, my husband and I, knew that Dr. Davidson is the one to trust on handling eye problems.  Beside being very friendly, he is very knowledgeable about different cataract procedures and choices, so he let us know the best choice regarding my husband problem in accordance of our budget too.  We definitely want to have him handle soon my husband situation.

I needed cataract surgery, I had previously lost all vision in my right eye, so I was scared stiff as you can imagine. Dr. Davidson was so caring and took away my fears. Well I had my surgery and can only say the whole experience was as professional as they could be. The prepp lady was so efficient she was amazing. Her name was Sharen I think. All I can say is thank you Dr. Davidson, the whole experience was the best it could be. ********** 10 stars from me !!!!!!!!!!! Thank you everyone, including Dr.Ora.

I was introduced to surgeon Dr John Davidson by Dr Ashish Toor. It was resolved I needed cataract surgery and he would be the man. Dr Davidson has such a warm smile and high energy presence. Kinda of a ‘let’s get this thing taken care of’ attitude. I was grateful and felt very trusting. From the moment you arrive at Lynn Eye for your surgery you are met with an amazing staff of nurses and surgical assistants. All happy and incredibly willing to make your stay the best So grateful for that attitude I feel very lucky to be in the care of Drs Davidson and Toor They are a terrific team. Dr Davidson is so positive as a surgeon The feeling goes a long way. I’m thankful Great job. Dr Davidson makes you believe in his work and assessment and you are very glad you did.

What a difference with the new management in the front office at Conejo Simi! Dr. Davidson is a phenomenal doctor and an inspirational human being. He is a kind, warm-hearted person. I wish I could say the same about previous ophthalmologists I've visited elsewhere. I truly appreciated the much-needed and transformational new staff at Conejo Simi. Dr. Eyvazzadeh is a kind, gentle, and accountable optometrist. She always puts in 110% TLC, which is almost unheard in other eye doctors' offices these days. Taryn, the receptionist in the front office at Conejo Simi, was especially gracious and polite. I am so glad to be a patient here, especially with the management changes. Five stars for this office!

Dr Davidson is very knowledgeable and, through, kind and explained all my options for my complex vision issues. Felt very well cared for and trust his guidance
