Steven L. Carter's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Carter was rude and harsh. The pelvic exam was painful and rushed, making it seem like he did not care about his patients at all. When I told him about my symptoms, he shrugged them off like they didn't matter, and made a snarky reply. Honestly, I am shocked by the lack of professionalism. It is a shame that the kind receptionists and nurses have to deal with him. Not recommended!!

I've been to different drs, but Dr. Carter is the best. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He had to make a quick call the saved my son's life. Staff is great.

I’ve been seeing Dr Carter for over 15 years. He explains things thoroughly, is pleasant and professional. He has performed two surgeries on me and both have turned out fantastic. I would recommend him to anyone.

First, Dr. Carter is an exceptional doctor. I had bad experiences with paps in the past with pain and discomfort but I only felt the pressure from the clamps with Dr. Carter. He delivered my first child and I'm now seeing him with my second pregnancy and I wouldn't have gone to anyone else. I don't need a doctor who will beat around the bush. Dr. Carter tells it to you straight and is incredibly kind. And I love his staff!

I wouldn't see anyone else with my pregnancy. I trust Dr. Carter completely and he has been an incredible resource and advocate. Plus, he's an exceptional doctor! He delivered my first child and did the stitching, while gave me absolutely zero pain or discomfort during the healing process. I was shocked when I did my post-delivery check up and he said the stitches were still there because I hadn't felt them at all. I knew with my second pregnancy I would go right back to Dr. Carter, who I trust with my life and my baby's life. My first pregnancy was complicated with a diagnosis for the baby in utero and I knew that with baby #2 I would want the absolute best doctor seeing me and making sure my baby is ok. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Carter!

Dr. Carter has always provided excellent gynecological care for myself and my daughters, spending the time to answer all of our questions and serving as a wealth of information for all of us. We have had nothing but competent , friendly service from him and his staff, and we highly recommend his practice.

Office is well run and staff is very responsive and knowledge. Dr Carter ran all the appropriate tests before diagnosis and took the time to make sure I was educated on my options.He did my surgery and was available for follow up concerns even though it was over the holidays.

I have been very fortunate to be under Dr. Carter's care when finding out I became pregnant with my first child. The staff are pleasant and remember your name in time. The nurse's are polite, considerate and informative. Dr.Carter himself is relatable and personable. He is flexible as there are two offices you can visit him at, Camarillo or Oxnard which can help when you need to quickly be seen. Dr. Carter has delivered 2 of my 3 Little Ones without complication, I highly reccomend him.

I have been a patient of Dr. Carter's now for both my pregnancies and my husband and I couldn't be happier! My appointments with him are thorough yet quick. I don't ever feel rushed and when I do have questions or concerns, he takes the necessary time to resolve them. We have found him to be very professional and when my husband is able to attend my appointments, he always acknowledges him and includes him in our conversations.Any exams I have had with him have been just as comfortable or uncomfortable as any others I have had in the past with other OB/GYNs.I enjoy the fact that Dr. Carter does not coddle me. He is straight-forward and doesn't sugarcoat things, again, something I look for in a doctor.His staff always accommodates me when scheduling appointments; they always call to confirm with me the day before my appointments.He was unfortunately away when I delivered my first child, one of his colleagues delivered my daughter, but came the very next day to visit us at the hospital and made sure we were all doing well and to see if we had any concerns. He also followed-up with the on-call pediatrician at the hospital to ensure our daughter was getting the care she needed.I would certainly recommend Dr. Carter to others!
