Santa Cruz's Online Review Report Card

I have been a client of JumpstartMD for years, at several locations (Burlingame, Corte Madera, and most recently Capitola). The first two times I lost weight and kept it off as long as I followed their program. My experience this time was not as good.Jillian was the PA at the Capitola location from the time I started in October 2020 until a few months ago. She was an outstanding clinician and very helpful to me, as we navigated the changes to my thyroid levels. Since she left, there has been a revolving door of qualified and not-so-qualified people at this location. My weight loss has stalled. The person I most recently met with, who didn't even have the courtesy to introduce herself, told me that the laws of thermodynamics were causing me to not lose weight. At that point I knew that there was no talking to her and no point in continuing this program.What impressed me about JumpstartMD initially was that it was based on science. "Thermodynamics" has no place in the science of weight loss, nor does someone who is under-educated and smug about it. I met with Dr. Sean Burke as well a few weeks ago and he also insisted that the problem is that I need to cut calories. Blame the victim. It seems to me this program has lost its way.

I have been a patient at Jumpstart MD since 2019. I participated in their weight loss program. Jillian is hands down the best clinician I've ever met. I was a reticent patient, but Jillian's interest and professional guidance allowed me to successfully lose and keep off 65 lbs. I credit Jillian with saving my husband's life (too long for a review, but true). She goes so above and beyond any doctor I've met. Her wholistic approach is refreshingly unique, and gives her clients access to her incredible breadth of knowledge. You'll get more support than you ever though possible. Ginger is wonderful and so helpful and accommodating. These two are such a professional pair. I'd recommend this Jumpstart MD to anyone who is interested in restoring their health and wellbeing.

I have been going to Jumpstart in Santa Cruz for the last few months, Jillian and crew are great! They are a first class operation that takes time with each patient and they are always accessible. In a few months I lost 35lbs just following the program; this is the best program I have found in my continuous battle with weight. I have nothing but good things to say about Jumpstart MD in Santa Cruz.  Jillian and her staff are the best.  So far, I've lost 30 lbs (on my way to 40) and I've been able to do this while feeling good about what I'm eating. I have confidence that once I reach my goal weight, I'll be able to remain there.  If you are a data person, this place is for you.  You receive ongoing detailed information about blood pressure, skeletal muscle mass, extracellular water, etc. which helps reinforce the fact that you are loosing fat and not muscle.  I rarely write reviews but this place is great!

So thrilled that there's a JumpstartMD in Santa Cruz. I've been a patient on and off since 2013, commuting to the Los Gatos office. JumpstartMD has kept me on track with my weight and health goals, especially around the holidays! The support system is beyond words as well as the encouragement. I'm so excited that JumpstartMD has incorporated BHT ( Bioidentical Hormone Therapy) to their already amazing program. I want to give a big shout out to Jillian PA-C, my hormone angel. Jillian dramatically helped my hormone imbalance and overall well being, she gave me my sanity and sleep back. Jillian is very knowledgeable and considerate of her patients needs and an "angel!" I've lost so much weight that I'm playing the best golf of my life!  I've lost 50 lbs through JumpstartMD, I couldn't have done it without the counseling, support, and education.  After the weight loss, I started Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy which has helped with libido and exercise endurance as well as my general well being.  Before coming to JumpstartMD, I was borderline diabetic and now that is ancient history.
