Amy Nielsen's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Nielsen is fantastic. She always asks how I'm doing and she takes her time with me. I get great care from Dr. Nielsen for my migraines and I'm grateful she's a part of my treatment team in La Jolla.

Had online appointment today as a 1st time patience. Dr. Nielsen was very thorough, explained my MRI results, did a physical virtual exam and is setting up more tests to rule out another condition. I'm relieved to be heard and excited about a possible fix to my issue.

Dr. Nielsen was wonderful at my initial visit today. She was friendly, thorough, and took plenty of time with me. I I'm very comfortable recommending her to others.

Best there is when it comes to listening to you. I suffered from severe debilitating migraines after a car accident and several neurologist just told me it would get better over time and to just deal with it in the mean time. Dr Nielsen took me seriously and took the time to listen, evaluate, then put me on a regime to help make life possible to live again. I am so very very grateful to her. She did what others didn’t.

I feel very good about the efforts Dr Nielsen is making to discover the cause of and treat my neurological symptoms. I've had 2 in office appointments with her and I believe she is invested in my care.

Do not waste your time! Not only was she 1.5 hours late for appt. She rushed us, didn’t listen, was very uninterested in anything we were saying. Was not prepared for us. Read us results of a test we had done, told us it was negative. I had the report and said actually it wasn’t normal. She reread it and said... oh, yeah I guess not. Rushed us out & opened the door as we were still discussing personal medical issues which was now being done in front of entire waiting room. So unprofessional!!

Dr. Nielson was professional and nice on my first visit. However, after continuous complaints about severe side effects from a medication she prescribed, she continued to have me take it. After ending up in an ER twice from it, I sought out a new doctor. My new doctor said I and most people should NEVER be on the medication she prescribed for migraines. The medication is for depression and never pain, NOT migraines. My new doctor said, it has helped people with severe depression who have had migraines but it should NEVER be given to someone who just has migraines. I would not recommend Dr. Nielson to anyone. I complained three times to her about my symptoms and she did not listen.

Complete lack of compassion or bedside manner. Did not know key details of the medical history, misread the radiology report, had no awareness of well known clinical trial data for key issues in post stroke management. I typically don't like to give bad reviews but felt compelled to warn other patients on her lack of competence and lack of compassion.

Dr Nielsen is best doctor I know ,she care for patient and help me a lot.Thank you .

Took my mother to see her ONCE that was enough
