List of Anchi Wang's Reviews
My mother in law first saw Dr. Wang in the hospital after her stroke. Her follow up visit was made 1 month later. She waited in the waiting room for 1 1/2 hours (she had tremendous back pain at that time) When she saw Dr. Wang, she prescribed a muscle relaxer for her back which sent my m-in-law to the ER because the muscle relaxer made her unresponsive. One year later, we tried to make an appt. with another Neurologist in the group and I was told she could not switch physicians in the group, it was up to Dr. Wang who she could see in the group. My m-in-law has a PPO insurance and can see any physician she chooses. The Neurology Center of Escondido has competition between the physicians in the group, that is why she could not make an appt with any other physician without their approval. Please do not condone this practice by seeing any of these physicians!!
Initial wait of 3+ hours. No plan or procedure provided to identify problem. Follow-up visit scheduled with assistant (but nothing to follow-up on). Eighteen minuets on hold to cancel follow-up appointment.
Dr. Wang has been an exceptional physician. She sits with us for as long as necessary to go over progress, changes, issues and concerns. She always reviews the medications with us and will recommend adjustments if she feels it will help. In addition, she is very thorough on reviewing test results, explains the information clearly and asks for feedback to ensure we understand; she has also been excellent on recommending tests to help track the neurological issue.
My mother in law saw Dr. Wang in April 2017. The wait to see her for a follow up appt. was 1 1/2 hrs. This is not acceptable for an 89 year old woman who had a stroke. No apologies from the staff or Physician was given for the wait time.
I would never recommend Dr. Wang, based upon my own and others experiences with her. She misdiagnosed my symptoms and until several years later. When giving what was a difficult diagnosis to hear, she made matters worse by immediately giving worst case scenarios. She slapped at my hands and was quite rude. I found another specialist who confirmed my diagnosis but was kind and compassionate and has provided excellent care. I believe I would not be doing as well had I stayed with Dr Wang.
The front desk is is unorganized and it took over a month just for the initial appointment. After waiting so long, Dr. Wang was not very helpful. She was actually very rude to my grandmother who's 1) first language is not English and 2) has trouble hearing. Dr. Wang started getting frustrated and raising her voice. I'm sure she's a qualified doctor but I think the way she treated my grandmother was unacceptable and unprofessional.
Dr. Wang took her time explaining what she believed was happening to me. I felt very comfortable with her, she was very personable.
Doesn't really listen to symptoms and tries to fit them into a diagnosis it's not. Frustrating because she left me undiagnosed until I found a doctor who was willing to listen to my symptoms, properly diagnose me, and get me on a proper treatment plan. The front desk is extremely unorganized and rude constantly making mistakes scheduling appointments, etc. Because of their mistakes it took over three months just for the first appointment to have her not even listen to me.
I will always be very thankful to Dr. Wang, she undertstood how afraid I was about having surgery, she explained everything to me but specially she addressed my concerns & assured me that I was going to be fine and indeed I am very happy that I listened to her.
Long wait for appointments (5 week wait both times!). Then long wait in waiting room. Have been twice. First time was over an hour. (I think it was 90 mins but don't wish to exaggerate.) Second time was at least 45 minutes. Trying to call by phone is almost impossible. Again, at least half an hour on "hold" each time. Today I had to return a call from scheduling person, but again an impossibly long wait, running up my phone bill and draining phone battery. Finally got to speak to someone who took my info, asked me to wait a moment . . . and half an hour later had still not come back! I have left messages twice, in response to recorded promise that my call will be returned within 24 (!) hours, but that has not happened. What on earth is going on? Regarding doctor: Jury is still out since final diagnosis not yet made. Just have to say that the office which one expects to be responsible for the smooth running of things, fails on every count. I am frustrated beyond belief and am sure there are dozens more like me. This is simply not good enough. Have spent 3 months dealing with symptoms and at this rate it will be another few months. Would ask my primary dr. for referral to another neurologist but this group seems to be the only one in my insurance network.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
