Christopher Spellman's Online Review Report Card

I tried for 7 years to like this dr. If you suffer from severe dry eyes, this dr lacks empathy and up-to-date treatment. Guess I'm a slow learner, but i am now finding relief with another dr. Also, his space is in his wife's dental office, which is beautiful. Looks like he got the basement area, figuratively speaking. Sad.

Dr. Spellman is kind, gentle, and smart. His office is efficient and things run smoothly there. He was able to get my glaucoma under control when my other docs were having trouble. I'm relieved to have found him.

my wife went to above dr for serious problem,btw its her primary care opthamologist. dr did not even look at her eye problem just for his own info and told front desk my wife to see another eye consultant. needless to say in the future he wont be our eye dr and i will do my best to not refer him to any of my friends, and i have many many friends, I will be posting review on yelp as well.

the worst physician period ive ever come to know. my wife had a serious missap and needed to see her opthalmologist, he would not only see her but he and office staff blew her off. Do not use this dr for any reason. On a scale from 1 to 10 hes a zero.

I was ent to Dr Spellman after I had a retinal bleed .He diagnosed my Glaucoma and Macular degeneration.I hv been under his care for Glaucoma for 4 yrs and have found him to be a very thorough and capable physician. He did both my cataract surgeries as well as my husbands . His office staff are friendly and always helpful. I would highly recommend Dr Spellman to anyone in need of a physician for Glaucoma or eye surgery I would highly recommend

Couldn’t accommodate a serious issue in a timely manner and provided no other solution for treatment or care.

My top rating goes to Dr. Spellman. He has a high degree of medical competency when addressing my eye treatments. He is also a good communicator and is genuinely interested and compassionate about me and how he can help. The office environment and staff are great too. Overall, I'd recommend Dr Spellman without hesitation and am happy to have his help.

Dr. Spellman stormed into the exam room without even a hello. I had been screened by the tech and thought HE was another tech! Wearing sloppy scrubs as he bypassed me on the chair he went straight for the area behind my patient chair. At first I thought he was an equipment inspector. He aimed to the area behind me. What was he doing back there?! I did NOT know who he was as he never introduced himself. Awful first AND ONLY impression. I expected more from a NY trained specialist. My preference is a thorough one-on-one with the MD but the techs do the poking around. NOT impressed.

"Nurse" is rude. Ignores prescription request for a week. Asked why she sat on it for so long, she said: "I have other things to do." (I'm not kidding!) -- Gee thanks, I have macular degeneration and I missed two dosages of my eyedrops because of your incompetence! Afterwards, she refuses to look up the pharmacy phone number. Doctor hides behind HIPPA, says they don't have Internet connection. The common sense thing to do is to look it up on the smartphone. "Nurse" was belligerent and refuses to confirm receipt of fax with the number. BTW, every time she is asked to send receipt of payment, she never does. Not worth the aggravation of having to deal with people like them.
