List of Yogesh V. Patel's Reviews
Would give 0 stars but wasn't a choice. You have to see him at least 3 times before he even considers any treatment and uses threats of non treatment if he tells you disrespect this I am god doctor. Staff is rude and NEVER answer phone. I left a message to make an appointment several times w/out return call over 3 weeks and had to call and complain to Scri0ps healthcare and got a same day apt. Of course all they want is my copay $35 and do no treatment. They then sent me a certified letter telling me they would no longer be treating me. Not that it makes a difference in my pain, I just suffer with it pay my copay and remain in pain with no hope. Isn't medical insurance for profit great.
Great doctor who always listens to my concerns. Never have had a problem with him and have always had a great experience.
Dr. Patel is amazing at what he does- when you are a chronic pain patient some days are really bad! Dr. Patel’s sense of humor makes you lose focus on just how bad it is. He is caring and attentive and is willing to listen to you and try different treatments to help you! He has went above and beyond for me several times and it really makes all the difference in the world to a person like me. If your looking for someone to listen, be empathetic, while keeping a realistic level head about your progress and diagnosis he is your man! Finding a good pain doctor is hard- Dr.Patel at Coastal Pain is highly recommended! :)
Dr. Patel clearly loves his job. And its no wonder he is very good at it. To top off the quality care you will receive, the office was polite and very helpful. Count yourself lucky if you are able to use D. Patel’s services.
I had an epidural from him that didn’t work , I realize sometimes it takes 2 shots. Good luck trying to contact them to make an appointment . I’ve left 3 messages with no return. As I read reviews of other offices , that seems to be the #1 complaint . I’ve been a nurse for 30 years and prided myself on communication and compassion what the heck is going on in this industry. It’s a big shame
Great doctor!
Dr. Patel was referred to me by my PC Physician but so far I've had nothing but trouble trying to make appointments or getting through to him...I think his support staff may need further training
Dr. Patel has helped me for many years as my pain doctor. He is whip-smart and speaks to his patients in a manner that encourages questions and then makes sure they understand all of the information that is discussed during visits. What sets him apart from others is trusting his patients’ feedback and actually responding to questions by finding ways to gets answers. It’s crazy but true. For instance, I was initially prescribed Tylenol w/ codeine for treatment of pain, but when I saw him again a month later I told him that it didn’t work. Instead of immediately assuming I was lying in order to get a stronger medicine, he ordered a genetic panel, which found that I lacked something that prevented me from breaking down the medication properly so that my system could use it to alleviate pain. Dr. Patel believed me and found the problem quickly, prescribing a different medication that has worked ever since. With this mindset, he sets about exacting the best way to treat each individual, mapping out treatment plans and working with patients to set up reasonable goals and expectations, and may talk about additional methods that can help in the present and future that may alleviate pain further to help reduce or even cease the need for prescription pain relief altogether. These include different treatments from acupuncture to chiropractics, invasive or noninvasive medical procedures, changes to lifestyle like diet and exercise, and other techniques you may ask about in massage therapy, light therapy, and so on. (Insert obvious warning in 3, 2, 1… As a rule, do not try anything new without speaking to your doctor first.) If you want true pain relief works with patients and help, Dr. Patel has valuable insight and knowledge about new medical advancements and procedures to help people have the best quality of life possible. For those who just want quick pain meds, consider another doctor instead of Dr. Patel. He regularly maintains all patients take regular drug tests several times a year and will not tolerate abuse of prescribed medication. He works for what is best for you, and in return he wants his patients to work towards a better life too, if possible. I highly recommend him to anyone who is willing to work towards building a better life out from underneath a life of chronic pain. Best of luck to all.
Dr Patel and his team are amazing! I've seen several doctors over the years and he's been the best. He truly cares about his patients and works WITH you on a holistic approach to medical care. I would highly recommend!
Very helpful with my pain management. Gives several options for individual care. my appointments are always on time.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
