World class dermatologist. Genuinely comforting bedside manner and great communication. Relaxed office atmosphere and kind front desk staff. You know you're in good hands when your doctor trains other doctors at Stanford. People tend to get nervous before going to the dermatologist, especially if (like Dr. Barnard) they are aggressive about biopsies and cutting/freezing things...but I've learned that this worry is pointless wasted energy where he's concerned. Dr. Barnard is simply amazing at pain-free procedures. He's not going to hurt you and genuinely cares about your comfort level. He uses tiny needles from Japan and administers anesthetic really slowly so you literally don't feel anything. I don't understand how this is possible but it's what he does. (Sorry if this is TMI, but this is the kind of thing I always wish people would put in their Yelp reviews.)

The actual initial visit/biopsy of a skin cancer on my face went fine. I was advised that biopsy results would take about a week and they would call me. Not to be unfortunately, 3.5 weeks of waiting for the results, and after several calls to the office, I was finally told it was basal cell - but had it been other, that waiting would have impacted on it’s progression. Not good. I don’t recommend this practice because of the delay in getting results

Dr. Barnard was kind, thorogh, and focused on my health. Even though I was there for a skin issue on my leg, he spotted a mole on my arm and chose to biopsy it right then and there. The appointment didn't feel rushed and I felt heard. His back office staff are personable and kind as well. This was one of my most comforting Drs. visits I've had.

I am so happy that I found this place, I saw Nurse Jillian! She was so thorough and took the time to address all of my needs as well as educate me on the procedure that was about to take place. It has been three weeks after my first set of treatments and I cannot believe my results I'm so happy and I can't wait to come again! Thank you so much Dr. Barnard and Nurse Jillian! I highly recommend this practice and providers!

The staff is perfect and the Doctor knowledgable with a good bedside manner. I have full confidence in his direction.

This Doctor is being sued for malpractice stay away

Dr.Barnard is the best! I have worked with many, many dermatologists in the area and Dr.Barnard and his team are by far my favorites. He does a great job of listening to my concerns and addressing them appropriately and is clearly very knowledgable. I have since moved away from the area and now see Dr. Barnard through telemed appointments which works very well.

Beware of paying in full after an appointment. One year ago I had a annual exam with a biopsy. Because it was January I paid the full amount since the office was contracted with my insurance. My insurance excepted half of the charged amount and said I am only responsible for half. It has been 14 months, dozens of calls, 3 in person visits and one verbal promise from Art the office manager that I would receive a refund and still no check 2 months later. This office needs a good manager. I was told there was a cash flow problem and that is why I have not received my money. What about my cash flow.
