Dr. Dhawan is my elderly mother's primary physician. He is excellent and treats her with respect, explains things in a way that a non-clinician can understand. My Mom's health has improved (she has several chronic & complex conditions) under his care and no long hospital stays have occurred now that he is her doctor. He is an amazing doctor and both practical and kind.

During my first appointment with Dr.Dhawan he seemed to be a competent and caring Doctor. At my follow up appointment I was stunned by the change in his manner. He was impatient and rude. He would ask a question then not listen when I tried to answer. Worst of all was that when he told me my blood tests showed I had developed a dangerous condition he made no attempt to explain how this could affect me or tell me what I should do to reverse this condition. He asked me no questions about my diet or exercise, nor did he explain how important these things were to controlling my condition. If he was just rude I could handle that. What I can not handle is that he not just a bad Doctor he is a dangerous Doctor.

Dr. Deepak was my internist for the month I was in acute rehab following a stroke. He was very respectful and responsive to my concerns. He even saw me over 4th of July weekend. He followed up on my issues, even those I didn't raise with him. Sleep, nausea, headaches, blood pressure, sensation, pain -- he helped me through the difficult weeks of adjusting to disability and as I started to regain function.

Dr. Dhawan became my Doctor at a critical time in my life. With all of the health problems I was having he followed up and sent me for the proper tests according to his completed evaluation. I also became more concerned about my health under his care My health has improved because of his care.

I can't comment on the doctor however receptionist at San Leandro was very bad who put me in hold for awhile and hang up don't want to go there anymore.
