Review Summary
Sutter Eden East Bay Foundation in Castro Valley received a mix of patient feedback. While some praised the staff's friendliness and efficiency, a significant portion cited long wait times, poor communication, and billing issues. Overall, the practice delivers good medical care, yet it needs stronger administrative processes.ScoreDoc Score

List of Eden Medical Center Emergency Department's Reviews
My 87 year old mom fell and ended up at Eden Hospital. She had a broken right wrist, broken nose, broken left kneecap, and broken ribs. The nurse brought her food and no one uncovered it, cut her food, or offered to help her. When they came to move her, they threw her broken leg around like it was a normal leg. Each disheveled doctor that came to speak with us were clueless on her medical condition. This hospital is as good as Motel 6.
I went into the emergency room to check if I was having systems of a strike. While in the emergency room a lady came in and asked for my medical card and driver's license to take a photo. Two week or so I get the bill saying 19,0000 or set up a payment plan for $ 1082 a month. I was stressing because I don't have that kind of money. I couldn't sleep at night was sweating thing how am I going to pay. In the morning I got up to set up a payment plan and looked at the bill closer and it said no insurance or secondary insurance. I called and told them I gave that information when I went to the hospital. I gave the person on the phone my medical insurance information. Then two weeks later I get another bill from the company that does the lab work. That night I couldn't sleep either stressing and I the morning I called and they didn't have my medical information. All this sleepless nights and anxiety because the lady in the emergency room didn't do her job. I am going to go to another hospital not this one
For not having that many people in the emergency waiting room they really make you wait forever. My daughter had an allergic reaction to food and they could not care less. We ended up leaving after a 4 hour wait after giving her Benadryl, which made her symptoms subside. Only come here if you’re literally about to die, and maybe then they might help you.
The Eden Urgent care doctor asked me to go to Eden ER and take the MRI imaging. The ER doctor told me that I am referred to ER for a non-emergency and the ER does not have a MRI scanning facility.
I was in a serious accident and broke my right femur. Had to be transported to Eden because it was the nearest Trauma Center. The orthopedic surgeon, Dr Haley, literally saved my life and I never got to tell her how grateful I am. They took excellent care of me there and kept my pain to a minimum. I can now walk as long and far as I want because of the care that I received at Eden.
I stopped coming here after COVID due to the lack of compassion and care. My daughter is in the waiting room pain level 8-10 and she's not being seen. The waiting room is chaotic and filthy. The fees charged at this hospital warrant a better level of cleanliness and help for the staff. They are overwhelmed and understaffed. If this visit didn't warrant an severe emergency visit I would leave and take her anywhere else. Her pain is to severe to move and even though this has been brought to the staffs attention numerous times nothing. Not to mention we are going on hour two in the waiting room to with pain level 8-10 waiting to be seen with no updates!!!
My husband was there for 5 Days doctors and Nurses where so nice to us . When you are Going through hard times
I have never had such a horrible experience in an ER. I understand having to wait your turn In terms of seriousness but I was there for 6 hours before I was put on a gurney in the hall. My Physician Aide and nurse were fine but the front desk is a joke. The intake person, I had to remind him I needed an EKG and a urine sample. When I asked him how many more people were ahead of me, "lots", he said with a mean smile. The head Security got in an argument with this guy. They may care about some people but I wasn't one of them. When I said I needed to lie down (I'd been in bed all day throwing up), he put me in the lobby with couches but that's where a Covid positive patient was. So I came back into the ER and waited. AVOID THIS ER. THEY ARE REMODELING AND HAVE LOST BEDS. Whomever planned this was not understanding what happens when you give up ER beds. I kept hearing, there's nothing we can do. Like make up for the beds lost in another area, Urgent Care, the Medical bldg next to ER with vacancies. Also a few folks are allowed to stay in the lobby and sleep. No medical reason. I had to go back to ER on Thursday, but not there. NEVER EDEN MEDICAL CENTER. I never once heard a kind word until I was with the Physician's Assistant and nurse. Never saw an actual Doctor and I am contacting my health insurance. I want to see how this was billed, no MD, no room, exposed to Covid. Lost 9 lbs in one week from nonstop nausea and asthma breathing issues. Went there to get hydration and IV meds I couldn't keep down in pill format. Sat for 6 hours, no water because I would have thrown up. Just pain. Also, hysterical laughter from the staff is completely inappropriate as was almost everything about this NIGHTMARE.
worst hospital i have ever been to! the doctors and nurses dont know shit the emergency room has a old asain receptionist who is rude as fuck and the emergency room your better off going anywhere else if i can give 0 stars i would! do not ever come to this hospital!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My primary care physician sent in an order for a diagnostic mammogram for me and I got a call from their imaging department to set up an appointment. I called them back to make the appointment and the person on the phone said that since this would be my first visit at their facility, they would need past imaging results to set up an appointment. I told them that another imaging facility had performed a screening mammogram (even after I pleaded with them to do a diagnostic mammogram because of dense breast tissue) and that my doctor had a copy of the unreadable imaging and inconclusive results. I told the person to contact my doctor's office to obtain whatever records they needed. Instead of saying that she would follow up with my doctor, she proceeded to argue with me about their "protocols." What the hell do their precious protocol have to do with the patient?? If they need records, they are free to request them from my doctor who has a signed release from me to share records with appropriate care providers. Why not do your damn job and follow up with the medical professionals? That is usually how medical professionals share results or medical records. She just kept hammering on about their protocols and all this time my blood pressure is rising. I had just been given a diagnosis of dangerously high hypertension and was told to go the ER because there was a risk of my stroking out. I had to to get off the phone before my pressure got out of control. I told her to either follow up with my doctor or I would ask to be seen by a different provider. Simply unbelievable...and they call themselves medical professionals...my foot!! Maybe go and enroll in a Learning Annex course on bedside manner for medical people or watch a YouTube video! This is NOT how you engage with patients.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
